I was so excited to finally find a Vietnamese place in Katoomba – We had been craving a proper Pho – but sadly this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we ever had. 😢 The Pho was a complete letdown. The broth was bland and lifeless, with barely any depth of flavour. Ingredients were stingy to the point of being insulting – no fresh coriander at all, just 8 tiny leaves of Thai basil and 4 small pieces of fresh chilli split between three bowls. At $20 a bowl, that’s a joke. On top of that, they don’t even use fresh rice noodles, only cheap dehydrated ones, and the hoisin sauce was watered down beyond recognition. 🤢 While the girl who took our order was friendly, the male waitstaff were flat-out rude. The younger guy with long dark hair actually told us “move, I need to wipe the table” – zero manners. The bald waiter serving food and drinks would just dump items on the table without a word and walk off. The whole atmosphere made us feel unwelcome, like we were a burden rather than paying customers. And to top it off, this place is definitely not run by authentic Vietnamese operators – the lack of hospitality shows. If you’ve ever been to Vietnam, you’ll know true Vietnamese service is warm, respectful, and welcoming – this was the complete opposite. Pho Moi was an utter disappointment from start to finish. Terrible food, rude service, and not worth a cent. I would never recommend this place and will never return. 👎💩

Pho Moi is a gem in the heart of Katoomba. The price is fairly expensive, but the quality of the food and how satiating it is does make it worth a visit. This was the first time my girlfriend and I have had pho. I ordered pho dac biet and my girlfriend had the bo kho and the iced chocolate. I really enjoyed what i had and appreciate that they had siracha at every table. I also tried the bo kho and i liked it too, it is a sweet and umami stew containing carrots and brisket. My pho dac biet was really good, and if i could, i would eat it almost every day. It was super filling, and the flavour was really well balanced, plenty of beef, and had a lot of variety. My girlfriend was OBSESSED with the iced chocolate, she said it was the best iced chocolate she ever had and had ordered another the next day. Staff were friendly and had remembered my girlfriend the night before, and had catered to her needs. Atmosphere is very cozy, a little claustrophobic, but still had a really cool and unique vibe.

Temperature in Blue Mt dropped to 13°C while we were there. This weather urged me to look for a piping hot dinner. I thought a soupy noodle should do the job, so i went to Pho Moi restaurant to seek out the noodles. Ordered the seafood egg noodle and a pork chop fry noodle. Turned out that inspite of it's Vietnamese name, it was more of a Thai restaurant. The pork chop wasn't too bad but the egg noddle was horrific. Tasteless, felt undercooked and underwhelming. Couldn't finish it. My love for egg noodle is unwavering meaning I could eat any type of egg noodle no matter how it is cooked. But this one...., I just couldn't even tho i forced myself. Service was great though. Even when the place was packed, food still came quite quickly. Staff was also friendly n accommodating. But price to me wasn't worth the food. Was thinking...., did I order the wrong thing? Because the place was consistently packed. Will I come again...🤔, probably not.

My family had a late lunch last Tuesday. We arrived in Pho Moi at 2:50pm and still ordered 2 pho and 1 spring rolls. The guy cashier was very nice to us and telling us that they are closing soon but still take our order but there is this small lady who is acting like their supervisor saying something at the counter because we still ordered for food. The bossy lady served our food then we just asked for 1 more slice of lemon but she walked away with us like she didn’t hear anything. And then the guy Manager who is about to leave the premises heard us and they talk in there language then the manager guy asks us again about our request. Then the small bossy lady heard about it and was talking loud saying they already got their serving etc etc. She keeps on mumbling as if there were no customers in the restaurant. They still give us a slice of lemon which we thanked them for it. Hoping this could be addressed. We are a local here in Katoomba and everytime we eat at Pho Moi that lady boss is rude to anyone. This is my first time writing a review here because we always had good food and service but this time,...

Food quality has dropped a lot since my last visit 1 yr ago.

Ordered the pho tai and bun cha. The broth was good, noodles and sliced beef were of poor quality. It's very obvious they've used pre sliced frozen beef that's usually used for hot pot, I've never encountered this before from any Vietnamese restaurant in Australia or Vietnam. Lastly the serving of herbs was really low, like the lowest I've ever encountered from any restaurant.

The bun cha was worse unfortunately, the sauce and grilled pork is probably the most important part of the dish. The sauce was overpoweringly salty, and the dish only included pork patties, every bun cha I've ever ordered in Australia or Vietnam usually includes a few pork patties but mostly grilled sliced pork. I've never ordered a bun cha in my life that I didn't enjoy, unfortunately I really didn't enjoy this one.

Service and atmosphere was good, but if the food is poor quality then that's just not enough. It's unfortunate because my last visit here I recall the food...
