Don’t go in to This restaurant , go somewhere else unless you are okay with dirty and filthy restaurants 😂. My sister and I stopped by at Katoomba on the way back to Sydney from Orange and we decided to find something to eat before driving back.
We picked Japanese food because my sister’s favourite cuisine. We were waiting to go in around 5pm my sister wanted to have sushi train , I wanted hotpot. When we walked the restaurant was quite dirty , food scraps on the floors , I had to wipe my chair and table because of oil masks on .
More importantly, the girl who was making sushi roll kept chatting non stop while making sushi rolls ( she was quite pretty and wasn’t Asian) we were sitting close to her and watched since we came in until we out she never stopped. We even heard the conversation what she was chatting about. We don’t care if she chats but chatting and making rolls at the same time it is not hygiene at all , at least she should wear mask as the other. We were hungry but we lost a bit of appetite so in stead of grabbing sushi rolls on the belt we ordered hot dish .
Foods was just okay. my sister chicken curry was nice ( she told me ) my hot pot soup was quite sweet. The staff in the restaurant seemed unorganised . Hot pot gas stove was quite dirty I had to wipe off food scrap 😂 otherwise I couldn’t eat my food … we finished quickly and just wanted to leave.
When we left I said to the lady at the cashier .
I hope whoever read this review should consider before going to this restaurant. I probably won’t go to Katoomba for a while unless I have oversea guests. And I would not ever back to this...
Read moreMy Mum and I are from Queensland and visited the Blue Mountains for the first time ever in late December. We spent the entire day walking around the national park and came here for dinner. All I can say is, um, what?
I understand that it was a little busy, but the moment we walked in we stood for 3 minutes to be sat or even somewhat greeted (FYI, we had to seat ourselves after asking a male employee, who was mostly walking around and cleaning, he was polite though).
First of all, the table we sat at had not been properly cleaned despite the man mentioned previously cleaning beforehand and not really attending to customers.
Additionally, from the lack of attention from the employees we were not able to order for 10 minutes, so we had to stand and grab the attention of someone.
We ordered two different chicken teriyaki dishes, and the wait time and portions were reasonable. However, this was the worst Japanese food we had ever tasted. Where was the marketed teriyaki sauce? We may as well had been dished plain chicken, vegetables and noodles (It was so un-outstanding to the point I can't even remember what the dishes were). The dishes weren't filling and we weren't willing to spend another $40 anywhere else, so we went home still unsatisifed.
This was so surprising as all other Japanese restaurants we have visited take so much pride in what they produce and plate to customers.
Extremely disappointing experience and if we ever return to Katoomba, we're never visiting again.
In short, you're better off going literally anywhere else. While staff are polite, they are ineffecient...
Read moreI've been going to this joint for ages. On the weekend around lunch time, now that people aren't freaked out by Covid anymore, tourism in Katoomba has gone back to normal so you could be waiting a few minutes for a table or bench seat, but the turn over of patrons is relatively quick compared to sit down restaurants.
Season Sushi has a dine in setting with 5 tables and about 10 bench stools that line up along the conveyor belt and like many Sushi places has served fresh, single portion plates with clear sushi plate lids placed along the belt... a standard setup and it works perfectly.
I've been going for breakfast with the lady and it's brilliant. at 11am the food is the freshest as the belt is empty and they get to work preparing. The warm stuff is the warmest and the place isn't as busy. The place is equally as good to dine in at any time of the day and even if it's busy, the whole concept that everything is eaten and more is made fresh is important, so high patronage, means high food turnover.
There is vegetarian plates, vegan and basically everything else, it's just a really nice sushi place. Green tea and freshly made meals can be prepared as ordered over the belt by the prep staff and take way is...
