The Victoria Road end of the park has a grand staircase leading down to a lawn, then you can take the path on the left that descends into the creek valley or possibly a path on the right that sticks to the cliffs. Despite being near main roads, it's pretty quiet down there underneath the trees. There are several old interesting bridges and various paths going up the sides of the valley. Down the end of the valley are sports facilities, as well as some lawns and playgrounds popular with families. It's really a great urban park, offering dense forests and cliffs as well as recreational areas, I didn't have the time to walk through the park! Gadiigal people hung around this safe water hole and the others like it for the gully provided protection from both NE and S, SE winds which can be fierce here. This is the land of the Gadiigal people, named Eora, and located just south of Sydney Harbour.
The community keeps a tight watch on this location and report anything they don't agree with to the police. Only stay the night if genuinely homeless.
