Clare and I are enjoying our blue butterfly tea and the ‘Sin and Tonic’ cocktail before delving into the interesting menu at the snazzy new Kings Cross Distillery in Llankelly Place Potts Point. A Middle East Mezze plate and a Lebanese Fattoush salad makes for an easy light meal. On a previous visit I’ve enjoyed the garlic prawns and I always love the marinated white anchovies (dressed-up with caper berries and gin jam here) with a cocktail. Of course, the KXD has a history, and a very colourful one too. Posters from the Bohemian days of the then dark back streets of Kings Cross have been retained in the new set-up. A great new addition to Kings Cross nightlife. And the staff are pretty good too.

Beautiful ambience, luxe decor and fine cocktails 🍸 We came on a Saturday for a drink and enjoyed the extravagant chairs and outdoor dining. We didn’t even need a booking! The bar menu boasts options for all tastebuds. Given the prices, I decided to try something new that I hadn’t seen elsewhere. I opted for the “Piscoteque” cocktail, which contained Santiago Quebranta Pisco Adelaide Bitter Orange Strawberry Cordial Grapefruit, Absinthe. The prices unfortunately deterred us from grabbing a second cocktail. A happy hour special would be a nice edition! We originally wanted to come for a gin tasting, there was a “flight” option, but in the end we weren’t sold on that experience.

Such a beautifully restored piece of Kings Cross history, as this cool new cocktail bar was formerly a seedy adult bookshop. Not only is it now a 1920s inspired bar, it is also a cellar door and a restaurant with some really delicious menu options. The stunning small batch gins created in this micro-distillery on site by the KZD distiller are delicious. Definitely worth considering for evening or daytime drinks and lunch or dinner. If you can't make it there in person right now, they have some amazing gins and cocktail making packages in their online store and their customer service is exceptional and shipping is fast.

If you're looking for a dining experience that will leave you completely satisfied, look no further than KINGS CROSS DISTILLERY. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting vibe, and the friendliness of the staff only added to the overall experience. The quality of the food was truly outstanding, with every dish being expertly prepared and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the Gin, which was like nothing I've ever tasted before. But the real standout for me was the hummus, made from the owner's mom's recipe, which was simply amazing. The attention to detail and commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of this restaurant, making it the perfect choice for date nights, special occasions, or anytime you want to impress someone. I can't recommend this place enough - do yourself a favor and try it! THANK...
