Wow. In the digital age where cinemas compete with Streaming Services, and before that DVDs, it’s good to see a General Manager who doesn’t understand Customer Service, let alone management principles. In dealing with our complaint, taking week upon week to respond after we followed All their protocol, abs after paying $43.00 per Ticket, plus $9.90 for a 750ml of water, not too mention snacks, following the advice of their experienced “Gold Class” staff, who purposely it seems have the wrong advice, resulting in an additional $25+ parking expense at Westfields because they did not validate our Movie Ticket, abs therefore the machine did not allow free parking, abs the best response was: “As you used your tickets, and received your sparkling water (originally we received the wrong drink and the water served was hot), the popcorn old, and the general service levels atrocious, not too mention, pointing out the obvious elephant in the room: Dirty Venue, smelly, under staffed, and not appropriately maintained facilities, the GM stated as per the attached email, that: We will not be refunding as you used the tickets”. No apologies. No management nous. No offer of compensation. No promise to rectify. No invitation to attend a complimentary session, and no refund! Hmm. Would someone ever make such a complaint who had not attended the venue? Would someone request a refund if they hadn’t paid for an under performing service? Is this lady for real? We are absolutely disgusted. We have given her every opportunity. Her attitude was rude from the outset, whether it be via email or phone, in fact she spoke over me, whilst I was advising I had sent the requested information to on 8 times. Instead of following internal processes to see where the information was, she raised her voice and even screamed, abs then sent this grandstanding response. We have now researched and seen all the reviews from others. It may be time to boycott this venue guys, until Event Cinemas head office intervene, and. As a starting measure, replace this idiot acting as if a General Manager, based on her sheer lack of experience, inability to effectively communicate abs lack of skill in dealing with customers. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY! DONT GO HERE GUYS. Heaps of cinemas doing it tough. Why spend your hard earth money here. We spent over $225.00 for a cinema session, to be treated like this, in the end, to wallow in the absolute squalor of the Bondi Junction Venue? Wow! We are even CineBuzz members, regularly buy vouchers as gifts, abs have done so for 10 years. Hmm. Did anyone say Hoyts? greater Union? Moonlight Cinemas? Wow. Even Govindas in Oxford Street would offer a better service level...
Read moreMy friend is a first time mum to a 5 month old and she booked into a Bubs session on Monday (public holiday) and was so excited to attend as it’ll be her first time to the cinemas in a long time and her husband could also join as this session fell on a public holiday. She triple checked before booking tickets and even confirmed again when she arrived that it was a bubs session. When they arrived, she realised they were the only ones with a baby as all the other attendees booked in to watch the movie not realising it was a bubs session (that is the fault of Events for not putting up a sign). The other attendees complained the lights were still on and the sound was low (because it’s a bubs session!). When they spotted my friend and her baby, they proceeded come up to her telling her she should leave, how dare she come to the cinemas with a baby, they’re irresponsible parents etc all the while she was breastfeeding and having her personal space violated. I am appalled at the behaviour of grown adults (many were parents themselves) over a mistake that fell on Events for not proper signage it’s a bubs session and also for not standing up for my friend when they had every right to attend the cinemas. It was easier for Events to disappoint one family rather than deal with all the other attendees. Also, to the so called adults who shamed a young family out of a bubs movie session, you should be utterly ashamed of yourselves for your behaviour. You can attend the movies any session, but a young family with a baby can only attend the few bub...
Read moreThis place could really do with a refresh! This was my first visit to not only this cinema, but an Event Cinema location - I must say I wasn't impressed and I'm not in a hurry to visit again! Of the 5 self serve ticket machines, 3 were turned off, 1 had an error on its screen, and the last one had a long line of people behind it. That line soon disappeared when that last machine gave up on life too, deciding to display a printer paper error on its screen. After trying unsuccessfully to use the website to book a ticket (the site didn't seem to want to tell me what I was doing wrong!) I tried to figure out if I could but a ticket from a human (or just try to sneak in as I couldn't seem to see any staff anywhere!). After a long hunt through a roped-off candy area I finally located a sole staff member selling tickets - she was very friendly and we finally sorted out our tickets! The cinema itself was clean, the sound and picture good, but the seats weren't the comfiest (my regular cinema is Hoyts Recliners). Strangely, the lights weren't turned on at the end of the movie - we waited out the entirety of the credits (thinking there was another scene) in darkness. Finally the screen went totally black and elevator music starting playing - we stumbled out of the cinema in pitch darkness (thankful not to to over and...
