Lobster Tail Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

Place looks nice, with a good view and lovely designed area. Its a shame that the service and food were absolutely disappointing.

While me and my partner were looking at the menu, a man had greeted us and offered to help, which is just about the nicest aspect of the entire experience. We took a while and walked around a bit longer at some other restaurants before returning here to place an order. We were greeted, actually, we werent even greeted or barely spoken to during our order placement. It was a young blonde lady who had looked like she had just found out her star sign wasnt compatible with her one true love from highschool, and that her life is now meaningless. It was baffling to have her simply say around 3 words while we were there, yet even crack a smile or simply anything! She had also not even bothered to ask for what sauces we would like as our meals had a few to pick from.

We waited around 10-15 minutes for the food and it felt like forever. When i went to pick the food up, the same lady handed it over ti me with the same exact face, not that i had expected anything different.

I had a pretty pricey meal and it was so bland and dull that it had to be a joke. There was barely any taste from the fried fish nor the chips, like they couldnt find any more salt or something. A lemon was given but usually i wouldnt put it on if it was a flavourful meal. I was disappointed yet again at the food and for the price i paid i also expected a lot more. It was around $20~ for this small plate of fried nonsense. After i had even finished it, i wasnt even filled up or satisfied. I just felt disgusting and greasy, as if 10 pimples had just popped up on my face just from that meal. The other one was apparently OK, but my disappoint was immeasurable, and my day was ruined. And...

We've had lunch there on several occasions and each time considered it very good. Great value. We're looking forward to dining there again in the next few weeks .Since then, we travelled all the way to Lobster Tail to use our government dining voucher. We were told by staff there that they were sorry. they couldn't do it, but would be able to do that tomorrow.. While we still ate there and enjoyed the meal,WE WERE MOST UNIMPRESSED WITH THEIR FAILURE TO HONOUR OUR VOUCHER especially given the manager's response to a review three weeks ago (see below). They should have the Lobster Tail removed form the list of restaurants participating in the government dining voucher system as it seems they are falsely advertising. I wonder if "Kangura" has been back and used a voucher and got the promised free drink?. I dont usually do reviews, but my last experience at LobsterTail Seafoods was an incredibly subpar experience. Firstly, they need to update their menu. I ordered one of the gourmet seafood dishes, the octopus platter, which clearly states it has grilled octopus, grilled capsicum, spinach and feta.

When i recieved the plate, it was completely different. Ordering the octopus main, i expected the majority of the plate to be baby octopus, but instead found that about 70% of the platter was greek salad. Greek salad isn't even in the dish description. When i ask the worker if my order was right, she said yes, and I said that the dish description was wrong because I recieved a tiny amount of octopus and a large greek salad. When she tried to ‘correct me’ by showing me the menu, she couldn't even explain why i received a full greek salad, a tiny amount of octopus when i specifically ordered an octopus main.

Food portions are horrendous, and the customer service needs to be improved because when i order the octopus main, I expect to have majority octopus, not majority salad (which isnt even on the dish description). I literally recieved enough Greek salad to satisfy the entire Greek population.
