My wife and I are both 40. We were outside a shop and bought ice cream from their open window. After that, we walked into the shop to look around. As we entered, we made eye contact with the older woman employee inside — she looked about 65 — and everything seemed normal. A few minutes later, she suddenly raised her voice across the room, pointed at the door, and said, “You guys can’t eat ice cream in here — you need to leave!” It was loud, out of nowhere, and completely humiliating — like we were being scolded like kids. It would have been more respectful and reasonable if she had simply walked up to us and spoken to us politely instead of shouting across the room. I just said, “No worries,” and we turned to leave. As we were walking out, she changed her tone and suddenly tried to act nice, saying, “Thank you — it’s just the ice cream can be a bit messy,” as if that made up for how she handled it. Outside, we looked around and eventually noticed a small sign with tiny writing that said something like “Please finish your ice cream before entering.” Easy to miss — especially since the door had been left open by an employee walking out. It was a completely unnecessary and disrespectful way to deal with...

My 11 year old son put his choice of chocolates on the counter (in front of sales rep) . Hubby tapped his card and we left for the drive home
My son had scoffed 3 of his choice of chocolate in his gob barley chew and swallow and said that they “tasted weird” I told him to pass them up front and new immediately after tasting that he had been sold alcoholic chocolates. To say I was mad would be an understatement. My son placed these on the counter in front of your rep and NOTHING!
What he had purchased was the Chocolates with the cherry liqueur inside them. They are very potent. My poor son felt awful (tipsy) and slept the 1.5 hours home and then another 6 upon our return. He woke with a headache.
Although part of the responsibility falls on us as the parents for not checking what he got but like hubby said “we walked into a chocolate shop and brought chocolates. No one warned me and they saw him (son) put the chocolates up”
Please train your staff. Warnings need to be given as if this happens again it could be...
Read moreUnfortunately, my experience with this store was unpleasant due to unprofessional behaviour from one of your male staff members. It may be the owner, who knows!!
Upon approaching the counter, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude from the server. From the beginning, he made little effort to say hello and seemed irritated by my presence, which was very un Australian! His tone was curt and he acted as though my questions about flavours were an inconvenience. What made the situation worse was that he treated other customers before and after me (who were not of my background) far more courteously, which made me feel uncomfortable and singled out! His body language and tone suggested a subtle but unmistakable bias, which was disappointing!
Adding to this, I was disturbed to see him handling the waffle cone with his bare hands, without using gloves or a tissue, which raises serious hygiene concerns!!In the food service industry, this is simply yucky and unacceptable!!. Overall, this encounter left a very negative impression! He should have treated the tourists a bit more nicely to show the true...
