I just want everyone to be aware of the standards at Pawsum in Leichhardt so that no other dogs have to go through what my two pups did.
I booked in my two cavoodles for grooming at Pawsum by calling Chris. Chris reassured me that cavoodles and schnauzers made up the majority of her clients, so it would be easy for them to groom my cavoodles.
On Saturday I took the two of them to Pawsum in the morning for a groom and then picked them up in the afternoon. When we got home, I found cuts around the belly and against the nipples of my ten month old puppy. I immediately checked my other cavoodle and found a deeper cut and grazes on his belly.
As the salon was closed by then, I messaged Chris immediately with photos of their wounds. She called me and thanked me for informing her, then began explaining that Crisstal was a junior and would no longer be grooming dogs. She offered a refund, but not an apology, until I told her that I had taken them to different groomers previously and had never seen something so bad.
Chris told me that Crisstal, the groomer, did not tell her about these wounds, which is why I was not informed when I went to pick them up. What shocks me most is that:
Crisstal cut Rosie, our ten month old puppy several times. She must have cut her once and proceeded to cut her over and over again without a care for Rosie’s wellbeing. Any reasonable person would have stopped and asked for help.
Crisstal, the junior stylist responsible, was apparently being supervised by Midori, a junior groomer (as stated on their website). This means that Midori condoned Crisstal’s behaviour and as a supervisor, allowed her to continue to inflict pain on our puppy.
Chris apparently was not aware of this. This means that both Crisstal and Midori attempted to hide Rosie and Teddy’s wounds from both Chris and myself.
This behaviour is sickening, I can understand an accidental nick or scratch, but what happened at Pawsum is beyond carelessness and lack of skill. The obvious disregard for the welfare of my dogs by the two groomers at Pawsum is not only unprofessional but a gross...
Read moreChristine and her team are absolutely fantastic! I am a regular customer of this salon purely for the fact that i am confident that my dogs will receive the best care possible during their grooms. They always come out looking and smelling great! My elderly dog sookie has arthritis and can be quite a fidgeter but Christine always manages to groom her perfectly with the extra care seniors often need for their joints. I’ve had many experiences of going to groomers and sookie returning very sore with a limp often from being handled too roughly by the other groomers. Sookie always comes out of Pawsum very happy and i can tell that Christine and her team have ensured to handle her with complete care and consideration of her condition.
I’ll continue to have all of my dogs groomed by Pawsum & would highly recommend all of the services...
Read moreFirst time going here, won’t be back. My toy cavoodle was a bit matted and needed a close cut. Booked in for a wag treatment, wasn’t quoted any additional costs upfront. There are bald patches on her chest, nails weren’t cut properly. Ended up being charged $160 for a super short clipper, then find out when I check my bank transaction that they charged $176. When I called they told me their prices are excluding GST, which isn’t disclosed or stated anywhere, even when you’re paying (they don’t have a terminal showing the amount). Just be upfront and transparent. Not too much to ask. Last time I try someone new when my regular, Furry Pawfect, is busy. I’ll wait. They quote upfront, add extras like little pigtails, smelling great, and they do an...
