IGA Lilyfield — Local services in Sydney

2020: A nice new IGA, has underground parking here with access off Catherine Street. Near the Lilyfield train station. I popped here briefly with my daughter and grabbed an ice cream before catching the light rail to city.

2023: I visited here again with my daughter. We parked on City West Link just past this IGA and Londdale Street. The store was quiet - at 6.45pm Wednesday there were two other shoppers inside the store. There was also lots of space inside. I feel that this store is under utilised by the community. Why? Because it just seemed a bit more empty than other IGAs I've visited. By this I mean big open spaces to move around that shelving and produce would otherwise occupy. Three times that I have been to this store, products have been out of date. So disappointing! First was Kraft Parmesan cheese. 2 months out. Next was a chocolate milk, our of date by 3 days. Went in today as a last resort for Marion’s kitchen seeet chili & coconut dressing, only to find that they were out of date. April & September 2021 on shelf. Even when I went for a different type, they were used by June 2021. It’s an absolute joke! Please check use by dates when shopping in this store. I feel sorry for the people that don’t check & go home...

Went the other day to pick up some milk. I was surprised to find that there was out of date milk on the shelf (use by the 24th on the 26th). I told one of the staff stocking shelves, and their response was simply 'yes'. They made no move to remove it and it wasn't even discounted!! I feel for anyone who accidentally purchases the product to find it out of date, or worse, get sick from consuming it. This is a food standard violation and I will be...
