It’s my favourite croissant - it’s actually ruined every other place that sells croissants and laminated pastries. Depending on when you go and the weather, theres going to times when it’s not optimal. But when it is - the shell is super crispy and the inside has a pleasing elasticity. Every other croissant now taste like a stale bread roll by comparison. It’s not too sweet or ´flavoured’ which I realise now is a ploy to distract from the inferior texture of other croissants. Penny Fours blows them out of the water. The only other croissant I've had that comes close is from Bakkerij Mater in Amsterdam. Penny Fours focuses on good quality ingredients and it shows (/ you can taste it ;) ). They also sell really great bread and lots of other yummy treats. Glad it's close to the house... or perhaps that's a dangerous thing. Thanks Penny and thanks...
