A great park to visit. As a non-local, I brought all my bikes along for this trip for me the wife and kids. Skip Googles suggestion of parking on the Esplanade and go for Fremlin St which will get you right near the park for your kids. Plenty to do. A smaller modern kids playground 🛝down near Fremlin St and the public toilets. There is also some large concrete zoo animals 🐘🦍🐅nearby for the kids to climb on. A pond that attracts all sorts of water birds 🦢. A pair of firefox cable runs behind that. If you head behind that park there is a park that has more to offer for older kids. Head up the hill and turn left. You will pass under the pedestrian bridge that goes over Foreshore rd. You can see the container terminals . If you brought your bikes, keep going and follow it all the way to the end. There were a few stretches of pathway that had sand covering where you will want to advise your kids caution and likely dismount. The lookout has a great vantage point for seeing aircraft landing 🛬and taking off 🛫from Sydney Airport.Take note of where you parked as the bike paths are...

Fantastic park that i've been to countless times. Living literally right across the road from this park, I come here regularly for occasional walks, jogs, biking, or even skating. It looks a lot larger than it seems and has lots to offer. There is also a large enclosed dog area for anybody to enjoy and stroll around. There is also a park in development i think, but right now it's literally just a swing in a moderately sized sandpit, next to a basketball ring.

There are also many geese that reside in this park, and they aren't the friendliest, but they aren't hostile either. They seem to be fine with people being nearby as long as they aren't bothered.

If you walk further down the path, you can find yourself at the coast which is a common place for fishermen. There is also a beach and lots of comfortable walking space with a nice outlook across the ocean. You can also get a good look at planes taking off or landing and i think it is as close as you can get to it.

Absolutely...

Beautiful big park with space for everyone including wildlife which makes me so happy. Besides the zoo animal sculptures & topiary elephants, there are swans, ducks, geese & water dragons amongst others. I have really enjoyed walking around the park with the dog I’m caring for. There are dog poop bag dispensers, water fountains for humans & dogs, a large enclosed off lead dog park, fountain features in the lakes, bbq shelters, children’s playgrounds & sealed walking & bike paths throughout the park. There’s also a nice open grass field for sport activities. I’m really impressed & today I found the walkway that crosses over the Foreshore Rd near the shipping container yard to watch the planes starting to land & take off at 6am. I really commend Bayside Council for providing & maintaining this park...

We had such a fun time at Sir Joseph Banks Park! The playground is incredible – one of the best we’ve been to. It’s got a great mix of climbing structures, nature play, and sensory elements that kept the kids entertained for ages. The whole area is beautifully designed and so spacious. We also wandered through the bush tracks and spotted a few ducks by the wetlands, which was such a nice, peaceful break from the city. There’s plenty of grassy space for a picnic, and the BBQ areas looked great too. After all the running around, we popped over to the Sir Joseph Banks Hotel for lunch – their beer garden was the perfect spot to relax and recharge. Definitely one of our new favourite family-friendly spots!

What a great park for family! A huge space has a lot of playground equipment and entertaining facilities such as sandpits, flying fox, cycling road, big slide, monkey bars, trampolines, swings, BBQ space and so much more. Easily could spend a few hours to a whole day!😊 +) brand new beautiful and well designed equipment. Has a nature around. -) the active kids can possibly get lost because of huse space, the pond can be dangerous for little active one, toilet is too far from top playground and so dirty, no cafe around.
