For a unique insight into Aboriginal culture, you can’t miss Minjungbal Aboriginal Cultural Centre. It’s a popular destination for school excursions and perfect for those looking to learn about local Aboriginal culture.

Run by the area’s Aboriginal community, it’s a popular meeting place for Goori people and other Aboriginal peoples. You’ll find museum exhibits, informative videos, Aboriginal art, and you may even be lucky to see traditional dance and song on the outdoor performance area.

Aboriginal tour guides offer tours through the museum and site, telling you about its relics, plants and animals. Hear how Aboriginal life was when this area was an untouched paradise of natural forest and mangroves, before learning about the cultural significance of Bora Ring, which you can see on Walk on Water walking track.

Pack a picnic, or cook up a storm on the barbecue, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon under the trees at Dalnan picnic area while you immerse yourself in...

There was nobody at reception when we arrived and no indication of an entry fee so we went on in and halfway through the museum we were approached for payment. They only take cash or a bank transfer. The museum is very small and dreary - not worth the $10.00 entry fee. Admittedly it had rained a lot so parts of the boardwalk were closed when we visited but to our surprise an abusive drug addict appeared out of nowhere five minutes into our walk causing us to turn back. All in all, quite...

Lovely loop walk with informative signs with great information featuring aboriginal history / facts. Unfortunately the board walk on the water has been destroyed so we didn't get to see that. There's picnic tables and nice shady paths and rain forest with lots of flora. Beautiful nature sounds, the center was closed when we visited (Sunday) so we just did the walk. Lovely spot for lunch. Wear insect repellent. Great length for kids. Beware underfoot...

A great place to visit with your kids. This is center is open on limited days and it's opening times are in NSW times. If you are traveling from Queensland you need to factor this. Unfortunately I got my timing wrong and missed a chance to see the centre. But the staff was very friendly to direct me to the nearby walking track which offers amazing views.
