In the less touristy months this beach is a pleasant one to walk along, especially in the morning. There is a mix of the locals getting their morning swims or runs in, walkers, people walking their dogs and a few tourists taking photos of the bathing boxes.

It is sandwiched between a few noteworthy areas: Green Point [see separate review], Hollows Beach, the Brighton Gardens and Brighton Beach. It is also the home of the very famous Brighton Bathing Boxes [see separate view].

When the tide is out you can walk from one end to the other and cross over into the other beaches. This beach has stunning backdrops of the city skyline, the bathing boxes and the bay itself. The sunsets are spectacular too.

Note: there is no carpark here, so off street parking [1hr] is suggested or take the local train or park at Green point which has a large, yet expensive carpark.

Brilliant beach with soft waves, clean public toilets and a decent changing area with bench. A few larger wooden steps with large landings to get from ticketed parking to the sand I got a large beach trolley up and down quite easily. Rocks to explore, lots of colourful beach boxes but this beach isn't as busy as St kilda and Brighton on hot days...30 degrees plus where everyone is normally there. You can spot the city skyline from the water boats on the horizon. Great family beach and normally a food truck with icecream, food and drinks parked in the car park on hot days. Parking is limited and street parking in surrounding streets is 1h parking. This beach does have the yellow and red flags and lifeguards. You have to go a fair way out to hit deep water and its a no...

Clearer water than St Kilda. Lovely city view, good spot to take photos with cute beach houses. If you use trains to get there, get off at Brighton beach station and keep walking to right side then you can find it. Takes approximately 10-15min. Sometimes gets busy with tourist and international students. But generally fine. Good place to chill with friends and families. There is nothing around this place, you gotta take your food and everything from your place otherwise, when you get hungry there is no way...
