Unfortunately today’s meal had to rate as possibly the worst pub meal experience I’ve ever had. It was down right awful.
I will preface this review by saying that the staff repaid me for the burger that I didn’t eat . So I am grateful for that.
The experience started well, we ordered our meals using QR. The drinks arrived promptly the meal, not so. Happy to wait a little longer if the meal was prepared freshly.
My partner is vegan and ordered the chickpea burger and the buffalo mushrooms.
When the “mushrooms “ arrived we could tell straight away something was awry. We asked the wait staff to please check this order was correct. She brought it back and told me that the chef told her it was the correct order.
Unfortunately the kitchen was incorrect. It was the scallop and chorizo dish. Thankfully I tasted the dish (non vegan) as my partner has an allergy to shellfish. She is vegan for more than one reason.
My “sticky chicken burger”. The menu described it as a “sticky buttermilk chicken burger with house slaw and bbq glaze, firecracker sauce ”. I can assure you it was nothing close to sticky nor buttermilk. Nor was there a firecracker in sight.
The burger (which I didn’t eat) was a chicken crumbed fillet, slaw and some white sauce I assumed was aioli. I returned the burger promptly and was offered a refund. I was advised “that’s how they do the burger now”
The chips on my partner’s chickpea burger were cold. The burger would have had more taste if cardboard was added.
The buffalo oyster mushrooms (when they arrived) were fish and chip style battered with no sight of buffalo sauce. They looked nothing like the picture used to advertise them in the app.
I did advise the friendly staff member at the end of the night about the mushrooms and he was either embarrassed or nonchalant. I couldn’t work it out. I wasn’t offered a refund on those.
Unfortunately the fun didn’t end there. The female bathroom stalls lacked toilet paper in two stalls and the bins in both bathrooms were overflowing.
With such great views it’s such a pity that our experience was a major letdown. This is a “will not return” for us and will advise others...

Read moreI write this review with disappointment, as this restaurant has so much potential due to its great location and beautiful ambiance, but unfortunately, it fails to deliver a consistent and respectful customer experience.
I’ve visited several times because I’m a local and hoping for a better experience each time, but it seems the issues remain. The first time I went with my partner, the table next to us was occupied by people who were clearly drunk. It was extremely uncomfortable, as their loud behavior made it impossible to have a proper conversation.
Another time, I went in the afternoon with a friend for coffee. I paid for both drinks, but her coffee took over 20 minutes to arrive and only came after I went to the counter to ask about it. Had I not followed up, it probably wouldn’t have arrived at all.
The noise level during the afternoons is another issue. Even in the semi-covered areas, which are supposed to be a bit more private, the volume of the music is unreasonably loud and the noise from guests laughing or speaking very loudly makes it hard to relax or chat.
But the worst experience happened during my most recent visit. I ordered a pizza and paid for it in advance. I have a parsley allergy, and while the menu didn’t mention parsley as an ingredient, the pizza arrived with it sprinkled on top. I asked the waiter to confirm, and after checking with the kitchen, he came back visibly annoyed and told me I should be more careful next time with what I order, because they can’t be remaking dishes like that. I explained that the ingredient wasn’t listed, and no one had asked about allergies. Still, I was made to feel like it was my fault.
It’s unfortunate because the place has so much to offer visually, but the service and overall customer care continue to fall short. I truly hope they can improve, as it could be a wonderful place if they put more attention to detail and care into the...
