After buying a house here at Wallaroo that we hope to semi retire too in the next couple of years. We went to our new local beach. It has a few permanent sunshade shelters for general use. You may end up sharing so be prepared for that. The sand of course is perfect. The beach is really nice and pretty protected by the jetty and sea walls. No real waves, so kyaking should be on your to do list, but you could also snorkel along the beach side of the sea wall that offers protection for the ferries. It would be nice for the protected swimming area to have the pontoons again, just to add that extra touch. I'm sure that is on a list to replace...
