Wallaroo Heritage and Nautical Museum — Attraction in Wallaroo

$6 admission. This museum is an absolute gem with so many items from the history of this industrial town and the shipping that went out of it. Half is mostly about the history of the town whereas the other half is about the nautical history and how it has affected the town with the shipping. The personnel were super helpful and they have so many pictures so if you think that you have any connection to anything in this town, chances are that it's here. My great grandfather sailed on a cargo ship from here in 1935, and yes, there are pictures of the ship in the Wallaroo harbour. I highly recommend this museum! Oh and they have a real giant squid! This museum looks simple on the outside but is a treasure trove on the inside. There are a few buildings to explore packed full of interesting memorabilia.
