I ordered the scrabbled eggs on sourdough with mushrooms and coffee.  To be honest it was pretty ordinary, the coffee I had the day before was much better and unfortunately the food was nothing special. The cafe is dog friendly but I couldn't see any dog water bowls. There is inside and outside seating and you order your meal at the counter.  Footpaths around the cafe are accessible by wheelchair but in saying that it would be hard to navigate one inside the cafe due to tables being close to one another but you could sit outside. Staff are really friendly and along with breakfast you can also dine in for lunches or get takeaway.  They also provide gluten free options and they have a specials board.

We stopped by for our standard family order of a flat white, two hot chocolates and a babycino. From all accounts the hot chocolate and babycino were very nice and my flat white was just the way I like my coffee. I got the large size which was on the milkier side so if you like a stronger coffee maybe get a double shot in the bigger one. The one negative was my coffee was a bit on the colder side than I like which is a common occurrence at most places when we place our usual family order, the leftover milk from the warm hot chocolate strikes again! That said the staff were friendly and the service was quick and with a smile. Would definitely come back if in the area again.

We visited The Smelter in April on a rainy day after our Moonta Mines train ride was cancelled. The café was really busy—we waited about 15 minutes to be seated and around 45 minutes for the food, but it was well worth it. We had coffee, chicken waffles, and the big breakfast—everything was fresh, tasty, and satisfying. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a slow morning. There’s street parking nearby. If you’re in the Copper Coast region, I’d highly recommend stopping by The Smelter!

The Smelter impressed me. At first we were going to go somewhere else. We walked in a stood there for a little while and no one said hello or even just said, "we'll be with you soon!" I get that they were busy, but abit of recognition never hurts. BUT, who I think is the owner, then said hello and was very welcoming. We asked if they had a table and they did! They do get very busy, but I understand why. The food here is DELICIOUS! I had the Southern Chicken Waffles and a Vanilla Thick Shake. Lets just say... YUM!! I asked for abit more maple syrup, they gave me some and I devoured the whole plate like i haven't eaten in 3 months!! Would highly recommend!! Thankyou for a...
