Bond Store — Restaurant in Wallaroo

Im sitting back at my hotel still thinking about this place. Firstly, thank you Derek for making our night spectacular, my fiance and I had heard nothing but amazing reviews for this place and we thought we would give it a go, and give it a go we did, thanks to Derek!

Our night began with an introduction with Derek who from the first moment we walked in was humorous and polite, as we had arrived 15 minutes before our booking, he was happy to see how eager we were to dine in, and eager we were.

He sat us down in the window section, which, if you're ever coming to this amazing establishment, book the windows if you can! Derek walked us through the menu, foods and beverages, I for one love walking into a restaurant with 0 opinions on what I want to order, I almost completely leave it up to the server to give me recommendations, we ended up ordering everything Derek recommended, "the best espresso Martini this side of Melbourne" I'll never forget it.

Food was amazing, we ordered 1 entree, 3 starter plates, and the platter of Lamb rump, scotch and sausage, polished everything off with nothing but applause for the chefs that prepared the food.

We were about to leave, but Derek recommended we try some more of the cocktails, before I could even say anything, my fiance happily agreed, and my word the drinks were amazing please do yourself a favour when you come here, try the cocktails that are recommended!

We called a taxi and Derek came over to recommended one final product for us, the limonncello, my fiance and I shared the drink, thinking it was another cocktail as it was so smooth and flavourful, but to our suprise it was one of their house made spirits!

I jumped in the taxi, but my fiance went back to buy a whole bottle, that's how good this was!

Overall a 10/10 experience all made possible by the amazing staff, especially Derek. Thank you so much for the incredible experience, we will be back for another night to remember.

Pretty disappointed with tonight's dinner at the Bond Store Wallaroo. Table booked for 7:30pm. Arrived to a busy restaurant (which is a good atmosphere) but was told to wait while they worked out our table. Then 7 of us were squished onto a table for 5 and we were told they would provide another small table to extend our spot and seat us more comfortably. We sat and waited for this to happen, before being relocated downstairs to 3 small circular tables (we had to ask for another chair downstairs so that we would all fit comfortably to eat our meal). As another reviewer noted, the tables are too small and the meal quickly becomes very awkward for a large group - especially when ordering the tasting paddles amongst dinner plates.

Meals came relativity quickly which was good, however the kids meal we ordered was one of the last to appear which was frustrating as usually restaurants know it is best practice to feed kids first.

Meals were tasty, though portions were small and we have to agree with a few other reviews that the food is overpriced - $44 for a 300gram steak with no sides is a bit cheeky, and would maybe be ok if the steak was cooked perfectly as ordered... but it wasn't. At the end of the night, when I was asked the usual 'how was your night' questions from staff I was honest that it was disappointing and our waiter was lovely and seemed genuinely happy to take on the feedback, through when asked again on our exit by the gentleman who I believe was the owner/manager, and I again was honest with my feedback, his response of: 'well everyone else is having a nice time and had good feedback' - felt very dismissive and defensive. The bond store is by far my most favourite restaurant to date! The bond store has been my partner Kyle and I’s special place for years now and somehow every time we come it keeps getting BETTER! We travel from out of town regularly to specially dine with them! The food is exceptional, the highest quality, tastiest creations, with new items on the menu along with our favorites! We ALWAYS get the dumplings, hoisin pork bites, and any of the meats are incredible! The cocktails are perfectly created and the best we have tasted! My favorite are any that contain their house made triple o which tastes just like you’re eating a fresh orange straight from the tree! The staff make you feel welcome like old friends and attend to your every need, going above and beyond to make your visit special every time! From the moment you walk in, the feeling you get is unlike any place. You feel like you’re being welcomed home by family! Andrea and Elisa are such kind, welcoming hosts, building bonds with you and going above and beyond for every person who walks in the door!
