Equipment is not in great condition. Safety pads shift or come apart exposing the steel beams underneath.
Pricing would be reasonable BUT to make use of the Under 5's section both the child and supervising adult must pay admission ($18 minimum) and buy gripper socks ($3.50 per pair) = $43 for an hour. Insane.
Outside of that, to even supervise your kids, you'll be told you need to pay for their specific socks, even though the Flip Out staff are exempt from this requirement.
The staff are obviously and overtly disinterested. Kids were stuck in the (falling apart) foam cube pit whilst a member of staff, responsible for their safety, stared into the distance oblivious to to their charge. When asked whether he is meant to help kids, the staff member said "if they are having trouble", even though a 3yo had been calling out "I'm stuck! Help me!" for a while. (Luckily another customer helped fish the child out.)
For what you get, what you pay for it, I couldn't really recommend this place.
UPDATE & RESPONSE (As Google Reviews don't allow me to respond in a separate comment):
I appreciate your response. Considering the responses I saw other reviews getting from Flip Out Gosford over the last few months, I was surprised not to be called a "miserable person" as another past customer was.
Frankly, expecting a supervising adult to pay admission and sundries makes your offering for young people absurdly expensive. As I note - to take a child to your facility for an hour would cost $43 (being 2 x $18 admission, plus 2 x $3.50 for your branded socks). That's just far too much for far too little.
I do not at all believe your stance that a customer wearing footwear would have any bearing on your insurance. I understand that WorkCover may require your staff to wear footwear, but I have never heard of any insurance intended to protect your customers being at risk by customers wearing footwear.
Your foam pit is atrocious. Many of the foam cubes are breaking apart into small flakes, no doubt posing an inhalation risk to customers. The pads surrounding the trampolines are coming apart (the staff member supervising simply kicked them back into place, where they stayed momentarily - so this is obviously something which has been damaged for quite some time. If the single staff member supervising the foam pit is not enough to control jumpers entering the pit, as well as jumpers in the pit, then it is insufficiently staffed. I am the parent of the 3yo. I was supervising and assisting my child. I could not reach them from the edge. I was hesitant to enter the pit, as I would no doubt have been berated for not having paid admission and bought a pair of your socks. I understand that some parents may get upset if your staff were to touch their child uninvited, but that's a very weak excuse for not at least offering to assist a child who was obviously struggling, and a parent trying to reach them from the edge. In short, your argument against offering to assist is weak.
I believe the points I raised in my earlier post stand.
-- The insistence that supervising adults have to pay full price, and but your socks to actually supervise and manage their kids makes Flip Out twice as expensive as it really should be for your customers managing small kids. (This is echoed by other reviewers.)
-- The floor staff appear disengaged, and disinterested, except for rousing on kids for standing on the edges of mats.
-- The equipment of your venue is well and truly overdue for repair. The foam blocks, especially in the Under 5s area, pose an inhalation/choking hazard as they deteriorate and flake apart. The mats, where connected by velcro tabs, are coming apart in a number of places. Other mats are moving to expose the steel they are meant to protect your customers from.
Once again, I appreciate your response, and it is leagues apart from the aggressive responses many other reviewing customers have received. But honestly, I couldn't in good conscience recommend Flip Out Gosford, as it stands, to any other...
Read moreI’m writing to express my disappointment following our experience at your venue today during a birthday party we attended.
While the kids were excited and looking forward to the event, I was shocked to find that I was not allowed to accompany my one-year-old son on the trampolines due to the centre being at full capacity. I understand the importance of safety regulations and capacity limits, but it was extremely concerning that I, as a parent, was told and expected to rely on a teenage staff member—who was already supervising multiple children—to watch over my toddler in a highly active environment.
It’s unacceptable and unsafe to expect that such young children can be supervised effectively in this situation without their parents being allowed near them and having to stand on the edge rather than jump with them. I was also unable to purchase an extra wristband to accompany him, even though I would have gladly paid, which left me feeling helpless and anxious for his safety throughout the session.
The party itself I'm aware was quite expensive for the host, and it’s extremely disappointing that even with that cost, there was no allowance or planning made for parents of very young children to safely supervise them. It should be obvious when hosting a children’s birthday party—especially for younger age groups—that parents will need to be present and hands-on for their children's safety. This should be factored into your booking and capacity processes.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and look into adjusting your policies to allow for safer supervision of small children and catering for their needs like being able to jump with them holding hands etc. I would appreciate a response outlining how you plan to improve this...
Read moreI took my daughter and her friend to FlipOut West Gosford today. I had prepaid online for the two hour session. There were two ladies at the counter a young girl with brown hair named Chloe and an older blonde lady named "debbie". When scanning my barcode debbie had written out a one hour wrist band and put it on the girls wrist. I explained that I had actually prepaid for a two hour session to which Chloe confirmed. She became quite obviously annoyed at this point as she grabbed another coloured wrist band and wrote out the correct time. The young girls who were now distracted by the excitement and thinking they received the correct band to be able to play had walked over to the photobooth a few feet away. The woman "debbie" aggressively spoke to me as I was mid conversation with Chloe confirming names and said "do you wanna go get ya kids back over here". The tone in which she spoke was appalling and made me so uncomfortable I felt like leaving instantly. I would expect a much higher level of maturity from someone her age. I was there with a friend and we both aggreed if this had been our first experience with FlipOut we would never return and not recommend, however, we are frequent visitors and due to the lovely service we received from Chloe and the high level of service we received from a gentleman several weeks prior who we had an interesting conversation about a new cooling system coming that will be trailled by FlipOut. Not to mention the wonderful customer service we've recieved all our visits prior to today. So disappointed we now have a tainted...
