The Entertainment Grounds — Restaurant in West Gosford

Anzac Day races were great! Venue is great, loads of facilities. The only gripe I have is one particular staff member, who was in a mangers position in the Lake View room on the day was just revolting. She came over to the table and accused the people at the table of complaining about the lack of food. I was sharing the table with strangers who had complained separately. The female manager came up to me and said was it you who complained, I said I have no idea what you are talking about. She went around the table and wanted to know who it was, once determined she then lectured everyone about how she had a $3 per head budget to feed us all (mind you we paid $127 per head) she was rude, angry and quite frankly should not be in hospitality. Later on I witnessed her abusing someone else. Then not long later she came back over to me and angrily asked did you cancel your grazing platter and ask to upgrade…I said ahh no?! She was on a mission to chuck people out. This was all within 30 minutes at the beginning of the event. She made everyone feel very uncomfortable all due to her irritable, nasty personality. I visit The Entertainment Grounds/Gosford Racecourse complex on a semi regular basis; mostly to attend race meetings. I can honestly say that it is one of the better provincial racetracks and associated complex that I have visited. The grandstands offer an excellent view across the whole track, the interior is very modern; the (ladies) toilets are modern, ultra clean and stylish with the latest sensor taps fitted, and race day tucker, especially in the Panorama Lounge/bar area, is very good indeed. Great value too! Good range of liquor and beer too; my punting pal is very happy that Toohey's 'Old'is available, albeit in bottles. I believe it is also a great venue for functions such as weddings; parties anything, ... although I can't speak from personal experience. here. However, I will definitely try the night markets in the future. Only criticism is lack of parking spaces, but this is not really an issue except for really busy days such as Melbourne Cup which I usually attend. The Entertainment Grounds is located in the heart of Gosford, just an hour north of Sydney. It's easy to get there by train or car, and there's plenty of parking available. The venue is spacious and well-maintained, with a variety of facilities and amenities to suit everyone's needs.

We watched some exciting horse races on the track. We placed some bets and cheered for our favourites. It was thrilling to see the horses run at full speed and compete for the win. We even won some money on a few of the races!
