Just walked out This review has been left for service. I just walked in there were 4 staff members behind the counter all chatting away, I walked in they all went out the back one towards carpark. I waited a few minutes as the man washing up also ignored me , no hello how are you from anyone. Waited a little longer and left. My first visit will sadly be my last. No comment on the food or beverages as I didn't get a chance to buy anything. Looked reasonable if I'm being honest.
So I'll now edit this review because staff members like to lie and say something hadn't happened when it has happened 🤔 How can you say that what happened to me didn't happen when it did, they were all chatting and I was ignored, there was never I'll be back in 20 secs , or I would never have left this review. I was not acknowledged at all !!! I understand shift changes end of shift , trying to get the dishes done , I have worked these jobs myself. Not one person said hello , NOT ONE , and then you reply to an honest review telling me your staff didn't do this !!! Just know I don't lie. I'm honest and truthful it's a shame you couldn't just apologise. I now wish I could get negative stars if I'm being completely honest. And yes I was shocked I did mention to the man that was out the front I was ignored, I was flabbergasted , offended and then sat in my car an cried for 10 mins before I could drive off , wrote the review in hopes you would just apologise. I knew as soon as I walked in there yesterday the owner/manager was not in, i also appreciate you defending your staff , I'd just like to suggest that maybe they start by being honest and owning that they made a mistake rather than lying to avoid the consequences. Quite clearly if you are the owner/manager and are going to attack my review I could only imagine how you treat your staff hence why they were most likely too scarred to tell you they were all relaxing, sitting on the counters I might add, so maybe it's a good thing to NOT try...
Read moreWe liked this little place when we first visited late last year. On this occasion we were disappointed. The coffee was the same but the food was not up to expectations. Staff were very helpful and friendly and otherwise the cafe was up to scratch. We'll think a little before returning and probably read recent reviews before deciding.

The owner has kindly responded to my review (see below) and I appreciate the time and effort it takes to do this .
My experience leads me to believe that taking the matter up while at the venue can have very unexpected consequences. It's not always easy to identify the owner and taking quality issues up with staff seems a little unfair, they may have little or no input to menu or presentation. Some owners/proprietors have very negative reaction to any suggestion regarding their business. This leads to unpleasant experiences and I've found these are best avoided. I like to think that my reviews and comments are balanced and my ratings are a fair reflection of my previous experiences. So I often allow a little time to pass before posting a review in order to get the perspective right. I write reviews for the benefit of other travellers while taking into account the difficulties faced by business owners in maintaining service and quality. My reviews are public and many. I very seldom write poor pieces. A quick read of my many hundreds of posts will support this.
Thank you for your response, I'll take it under advice and next time I'm passing I'll make...
Read moreWe were on the way out to Young to visit a Cherry Orchard, and decided to find and support a local cafe for lunch, rather than one of those big multinationals that give you the basic, consistent food that you can expect/rely on. I ordered the burger with fries and an iced chocolate. The iced chocolate was the old-school style that was just great. However, the burger was very "different" and maybe you would call it "special". Maybe they do this for people from out of town. They were able to put this amazing black layer under the cheese, turning a rubbery texture into a stiff, smoky, unpalatable thing that needed to be removed. I also think the grill wasn't clean, as the burger didn't taste quite normal (some unexpected "bonus flavours" of some sort or another). I would've binned it if I wasn't hungry from 4 hours of driving. Other than the iced chocolate, the redeeming feature was the toilet that appeared to be exceptionally civilised. Also, this place was right next to the town's Aldi, so I could pop in there to grab a few items to supplement and continue my journey. They did have a comfy interior, and the price was not completely outrageous for a country town (but was not worth the money given what was served). Definitely a huge disappointment given the Google rating was 4.3 from 400+ reviews at the time (and the only reason I chose to stop here). From my experience, I can't rate it that...
