Its Baroque style is complemented by two high altar paintings (1771) and wall frescoes depicting the legend of the Seefeld Cross (circa 1772), created by Josef Anton Puellacher .

Originally, the Seekirchl was situated on an island in the Kreuzsee, an artificial lake created in the 15th century by Duke Sigismund the Rich. The lake was drained in 1808, leaving the church on dry land. Despite this transformation, the Seekirchl has retained its charm and continues to be a focal point in Seefeld .
