Donât be fooled, when you walk in you might find that the place feels a bit dingy, what with the awkward entrance layout and all. But believe me when I say this, what this restaurant lacks in first impressions, it makes up for in pretty much everything else.
One thing thatâs immediately noticeable once you step out of the entrance alcove and into the restaurant is the strikingly rustic cadence, an aesthetic that was expertly pulled off in every aspect of the restaurantâs decor. Make no mistake, however - despite how densely packed such restaurants tend to be (this one being no exception!), you will find that the restaurant is surprisingly spacious for what it is. This was a welcome surprise, as it can get irritating when restaurants are unreasonably cramped just for the sake of being cramped.
But it gets better. If you manage to get yourself a reservation, make sure you ask about an upstairs seat. Because this restaurant actually has two floors, and the upper floor is truly a sight to behold. I mentioned the rustic style of the dining area previously, but upstairs itâs on another level. (no pun intended!)
Overall, in terms of atmosphere, no complaints. Letâs talk about the food and service.
I am adamant that the kitchen here is home to some sort of proprietary technology that produces food at blazing speeds. Youâve been to a restaurant before, and you know that usually it takes a good while to get your food after youâve ordered it. Thatâs not the case here, or at least it wasnât for me. I barely managed to get a sip of apple juice (which they serve here optionally diluted with water - I chose to try this, and it was a very unique flavor profile indeed, try it!) before my food was in front of me.
The very first dish on the restaurant menu was Wiener schnitzel, which I chose to order. There was a choice between pork and veal, which was a welcome surprise, bar the steep price difference between the two. No complaints here - it was tender, crispy and simply a delight. Wiener schnitzel is not necessarily the most complex of dishes, so the fact that theyâve managed to not only nail it but, in my opinion go above and beyond, says leaps and bounds about the expertise of the restaurant chefs. Overall, excellent food, especially given how quickly it was made.
I have yet to mention the best part: the outside area. Just outside the restaurant is a row of large tables, serving as an outdoor bar. What I found especially appealing (and frankly, is the reason why we made a reservation here) is that at the center of every table is a raging fire surrounded by plexiglass sheets. This, aside from looking absolutely stunning (definitely an attention grabber, as mentioned) doubles as an excellent heat source, and a welcome reprieve from the cold weather when I was here. They serve a variety of drinks and appetisers there (try the Apfelpunsch, itâs lovely), and itâs just a fantastic addition to the already great atmosphere of the restaurant.
Letâs wrap this up, because Iâm sure you get the point. Restaurant Seefelder Stube is simply excellent on all fronts. If youâre looking for an eating experience thatâs about more than just the food, this is where...
Read moreMy wife and I had dinner at this restaurant. We ordered KĂ€sespĂ€tzle and Zwiebelrostbraten. Both very good. After we had finished the dishes for at least 20 minutes, we waited for a waiter but no one bothered to come and clear the table and ask if we wanted to order a dessert. So I got up and went to ask a waitress for the desserts we wanted to order. She politely asked in the kitchen, but the chef told her that they had closed the kitchen (in any case, since they were closing the kitchen they could have warned the tables). Just 2 minutes later another waiter asks the table next to us if they were ready to order desserts. Therefore I also called the waiter and told him "I also wanted to order desserts but your colleague told me that the kitchen is closed". His response was âsorry, it's closedâ. After 1 minute the dessert arrives at the table next to me. I didn't want to believe it. We put on our coats and left. On the way out I took it out on the waitress and told her that it is absolutely incorrect that for one table the kitchen is closed while for the other it is "magically" open. I'm sorry because the waitress was nice. I shouldn't have been angry with her. I should have demanded respect from her colleague who I no longer saw in the room. The food is good, but it is not enough if there is no attention to the customer. And even worse: in my case not only was there a lack of attention, but there was also a lack of respect. It is shameful that this restaurant divides customers between Level A...

Although they were âniceâ to my daughter and gave us a cake for her birthday, the overall experience was very disrespectful.
Calling us âthe most gentle Kuwaitisâ is not a compliment.. just it implies others arenât. Throwing the complimentary cake into the box rudely completely erased the gesture. Weâd honestly prefer not getting anything rather than being treated this way.
This is the third time the same male staff member served us â and he always seems like he doesnât want to be there. His tone is cold and unhelpful.
When I asked about non-alcoholic drinks, instead of showing the menu (which has 20+ options), he said âI told you last time!â â as if I should remember from the night before, even though he didnât explain anything the first time either.
My partner didnât want to return because of the poor service before, but we came again since it was the only place open.
The way he threw the cake into the box was the final straw. We didnât take it in the end, it was just rude.
Third visit was less aggravaging as the older waiter was with us most of the time, the other waiterâs behavior is absolutely...
