Agora — Attraction in Dhaka Metropolitan

I needed many things for the week — fresh vegetables, chicken, rice, some snacks, and a few imported items. I went to the Agora outlet at Sylhet Upashahar. I found parking easily, the store was clean, cool, and aisles well arranged. The produce section looked good; fruits seemed fresh. I compared prices: the chicken was more expensive than at the wet market, but I felt safer about its handling.

I got some imported snacks (chips, cookies), and paid more for some, but selection was much better than local shops. I spent more time than I would in a wet market because I browsed; for small items (like spices, oils) the price sticker made it easier.

Checkout was fine, though there were a couple of queues. The staff were polite. If I shopped during less busy hours, it was smooth; during peak time, slower.

In the end, I felt it was worth the extra cost for the comfort, variety, and assurance of quality. But for basic produce I might still go to local markets if I want...
