St. James Parish Church — Attraction in Waterford

St.James Parish church is the best church to worship in, in Barbados, with beautiful scenery around the church and a pisturesque view of the beach you will surely enjoy your time here. Being the oldest church in Barbados, experience Anglican worship like you never did before. There is a lovely sermon to be heard every Sunday with a harmonious choir. Every 4th Sunday in the Calendar, the Children of the church put on A Sunday School's Children Service where there is a beautiful illustration of the life of Jesus and other stories in the bible. Every biblical holiday whether it be Easter, Christmas, Advent and more ... the church celebrates with live music, singing, acting and dancing. The church has it's very own Dancing group. They are identified as the St.James Liturgical Dance Group. We dance for every season with graceful and meaningful choreography for every season of the Church! Including tea party's, live musical nights and more , you can very well see that the oldest church in Barbados is still very much alive and will be exuberant for you, your family and your friends to worship with...

Located in historical Holetown, a visit to one of the oldest churches on the island...some may argue this one has that title with plenty of history is not to be missed.

With its beautiful architectural facade both inside and out is truly lovely with a magnificent organ display.

My visit on this occasion is to attend their ever popular garden party with beautiful displays of tropical flowers that adorned inside the church...to the walkways, pews and the alter.

Entertainment for the kids and adults with the very entertaining and renowned Barbados Police Service band.

A well spread out area for a comfortable relaxing afternoon with vendors selling food, sweet treats, plants & wares along with arts & crafts showcasing each artisan's talent in your presence.

The ever popular afternoon tea is always a hit with visitors and locals alike...who looks forward to this annual event of fundraising...a must visit...

The condition of the church is pristine considering its age as well as the tropical location in which it is positioned. The area is frequented by tropical storms but from the general appearance of the church you would not be able to tell. The reason this church is so well maintained is because of the great care taken by the volunteers and care takers.

The welcoming team were very warm and had a lot of on depth information about the history of the church. They were also very friendly and were happy to share details about the church. The parking lot is organized considering the crowds of cruise ship travelers and tourists. Would highly...
