Out of season it is definitely NOT worth visiting it, because you pay ~7EUR just to see a bunch of some ruins - which are not even that interesting to look at and hardly worth even half of the admission price. There's not even any brochure available - only an A4 paper with a printed scheme and a dry architectural description of each piece. No history whatsoever. Mid season there should be some shows available and a cafe, but outside the season it's much more worth it to admire the ruins from afar - there are a lot of nice spots around the city, where you can enjoy the view for free and the view is even nicer because you can see the full castle (not like when you are wandering...

I read in some reviews that you get a map with information, we didn't get that. We paid €15 for 2 people for a stunning view of the surrounding. On the watch tower you can see all around the village. On the other hand we shot 3 arrows with a bored instructor. Saw 2 "actors" of 1 was calling very loud and smoking and the other had lunch for our whole visit, so they were not interesting either. There are no signs with information, due to COVID we could only stay one hour and missed the bird show, but funny enough the lady of the gift shop waved us to come in although there was a sign outside the shop "one family at the time". The rest is a lot of stone and a few birds in a cage. Cool...

Although the visit of the village La Roche-en-Ardenne, the château was a bit underwhelming. There was no historical information, just plaques with "belltower", "1st courtyard" etcetera. No information on who lived there, when it was build or anything. Everywhere you see the image of a ghost that made us think that either Casper or Scoobydoo was on an adventure but we had to Google to find out the story behind this icon.

Also some rooms where entirely dark what made for some unsafe staircases. Entrance is about 9-10 euro. Wouldn't recommend, there are more interesting castles...

We probably came here on a wrong day for us, because it was overcrowded - weekend and a holiday season. I would still rate this place at 5 stars because it was a pleasant visit. Nice show, beautiful area and great views. Situated right at the city, it makes it a bit difficult to park but we enjoyed the walk through the city and on the way back stopped at the store for souvenirs. They don’t accept cards at the entry and inside the castle if you want to have a drink.

Nice castle ruin, easily accessible for families. The archery activity is nice and free. There is also a tavern, though it looked not well maintained or clean. The sight invites for activities, I assume there are more at other times. Good explanations in the small leaflets and posters. Could use some better maintenance, like cutting some weed. For the price, it deserves better maintenance .Great view on the city lower and the surroundings.
