Arenberg kasteel is definitely a place I recommend to day travel to - or just drive pass and make a stop there. In front of the castle is a beautiful park in which a lot of people picnic. The whole area of the castle is a university campus and even the castle is used for lectures etc.. U can go into the castle and look into the lecture rooms and some projectrooms (not sure if thats allowed! but it was possible...) Definitely recommend!! Beautiful place to visit for a couple hours

Very nice looking castle, is property of Catholic University, and inside has administrative offices of the university, so unless you're a student or a body of university, you cannot visit it. Surrounded by a park with very old trees and small canals of Dyle river. Pay attention to signs, you cannot park there or enter the grounds by car, there is a private parking across the street.

I don't go inside this place but it looks really cool from the outside. Once owned by a rich German family, thus the double golden eagles. The grounds surrounding it are quite nice and there's a beautiful tree lined pathway leading to it. If you figure out what the odd sticks hovering over the river are for please let me know 😅 Recommended as part of a tour of the lovely campus!

The beauty of Arenberg Castle lies in its stately architecture, characterized by a harmonious blend of Gothic and Renaissance styles. The castle's facade features elegant detailing, including ornate windows, decorative stonework, and a picturesque moat that adds to its charm. The surrounding parkland is meticulously landscaped, with manicured gardens and mature trees that create a lush and picturesque setting.

The castle's historical significance is another layer of its beauty. It has a rich and storied past, having been the seat of the noble House of Arenberg for centuries. Over the years, it has served various purposes, including as a residence, a military headquarters, and even as a university building. Its walls seem to whisper tales of the past, adding to its allure.

Today, Arenberg Castle is part of the KU Leuven, one of Europe's oldest and most prestigious universities. It houses university facilities and is often used for cultural events, conferences, and exhibitions, adding a contemporary dimension to its historical beauty.

Visiting Arenberg Castle is like stepping back in time while appreciating its enduring relevance in the present. It stands as a symbol of architectural and historical beauty in Leuven, offering a unique blend of culture and heritage within its...

It's an old castle full of history. We are glad to have a chance to join an English guide tour. We went inside the castle and visited a few rooms. The big lecture room, rooms talking about the history of Arenberg family and De Croÿ family. The interior design is fantastic! Through the guide tour, we understood the architecture, how was the building and its different stages. We also understood the stories of these two families. The guide tour is very nice, and the castle is very beautiful....

Center piece of the Arenberg Park. The castle itself looks great, very picturesque but the surrounding park is especially worth the visit. In front of the castle there's a large area to sit or picnic. The inside of the castle is mostly used for lectures (architecture students) but also for thesis and dissertation defences. The river going past is also very serene and it might be worth following it into the forest. Lastly this place is great if you like ducks or geese, as these often gather...
