De Spuye — Restaurant in Leuven

Good food. I tried one time the foccacia and it was delicious. It was soft but crunchy, so tasty... And it melt in your mouth. To me, it was the best foccacia that I have ever tried in Leuven. Usually it is a very nice place to get together with friends (or you bubble in this time of covid-19) and they follow the social distance recommendation. Pizzas are also tasty and have good ingredients. I go occasionally for a drink with friends and I enjoy the time there. The staff is friendly and kind. You make your order and you have right away. Unless that you order food, you can have your drinks and tapas right away. About the space... There is a lot of space outside (terrace) if you arrive early howrver inside it is also a good option if it is raining. Inside is well ventilated and they keep the social distancing between tables. Good environment, food...

It is located near to the university campus buildings and have a Vibing atmosphere.

We ordered a sandwich and a Greek Pizza.

The Pizza was super good and they also have garlic+Chilli oil.

For the sandwich, I was disappointed because of the fact related to one of the ingredients. It was not clear if it was a toasted sandwich or a cold sandwich. In addition, there was no chicken in chicken curry sandwich. It was just a hummus or some spread with the name of chicken curry.

The beer was nice.

If you're hungry or wanting to go for a drink, then this is a good option in the area. The food here is good and not too pricey while drinks are various and at standard price. The place has a cozy atmosphere, with a large outside terrace decorated great and some place inside, separated by large glass windows. The best part however is its location. Laying at the edge of the Arenberg Park, next to the sport complex, it's the closest diner at this side of the park. This all makes it worth a visit...
