The San Ignacio Resort is a slice of heaven. My family and I stayed there for 4 nights in the Royal Suite and it wasn't long enough. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with the warmth and kindness of the staff. They also greet you with a cool towel that smells divine. The location is great. Far enough away from town to feel secluded, yet close enough to walk to the Cahal Pech ruins and head into town and grab a delicious lunch at Han-Nah's or ice cream at Scoops! The property itself is just beautiful. We found ourselves enjoying the birds each morning. We loved watching the Royal Iguana climb the Royal Palm each day and were always excited to see the Toucan fly by. We did as much as we could in 3 full days at San Ignacio. The Iguana tour is a must as well as the nighttime Critter tour. We also did the cave tubing at Jaguar Paw, all with the resort staff. Speaking of the staff, Carlotta was an absolute gem. She took care of us like family. Daisy was beyond helpful behind the scene, answering all my questions via email. The food is amazing as well. You must try the Fry Jack's! I can't say enough about this place. My 13 year old said it was the best vacation we've taken. Even my 5 and 7 year old loved it. We were there in December for the holiday's and the staff had a cute treasure hunt for the kids. And the resort was decorated so beautifully. I was so sad to leave San Ignacio so we will have to return.

San Ignacio resort hotel is probably your best bet to be the base for your various day trip excursions such as Tikal, Caracol, or ATM caving. It's not super luxurious (but then you are not paying a ton of money either) by any means but is clean and comfortable with all the amenities once would need. Service from the staff is courteous and friendly. WIFI signal is adequate. The best thing about this property is the proximity to the town center which is about a 7-8 minutes walk down the steep hill. This gives you quite a bit of freedom to the town center easily for eating, drinking and shopping without having your own transportation. Going back up this "heartbreak hill" is going to take a bit longer under the heat. The hotel is also within walking distance to the Cahal Pech (20 mins), a smallish Maya ruins with entrance fee for non-resident at $10. The Green Iguana Project is located within the hotel and hourly tours are offered at $8USD. Definitely a must visit. Our garden view room has a balcony with a hammock but frankly not really that comfortable to use since it's quite a tight area, and the bugs are out there. Make sure to keep yourself well protected with bug sprays since it's still in the jungle. TIP: Buy Belizean/Mayan souvenirs in San Ignacio as they are much cheaper than in the Cayes and other beach areas such as Placentia. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay experiences at this property.

We really enjoyed our visit to San Ignacio and staying at the S.I.R (San Ignacio Resort). The staff were all very attentive and really seemed vested to the success of the resort. The variety of the menu was interesting, when you could read it. If you didn't bring your cell phone and have a QR Code reader, it was a pain to ask for a paper menu. We called room service 3 different times and their response was near immediate. I ordered a late night Bread Pudding for my wife and coffe in the morning. We did not use the pool because the weather started to get cold when we arrived but it was always very clean and the lounge chairs were perfectly aligned. Our room was very clean as was the entire resort. One evening it was quite chilly and our waiter brought my wife a shawl. It made her very comfortable. There was only one minor incident. I am a "Red-Meat Eater" and I ordered a Ribeye Steak for dinner. It tasted great and nicely accompanied with roast potatoes and steamed veg but it was tough. It seems though that the meat that was supplied by RWR (a sister company meat producer) labelled a Chuck Steak as a Ribeye. I expressed my concern and my bill was discounted. I was a Meatcutter for 37 years and a Chef for 20 years and unless the meat is imported from The US of A, don't try it. Stick with the Pork, Chicken of Fish. I would definitley stay here again and reccomend it to anyone.

A great spot in the heart of San Ignacio to stay while branching out to various Mayan sites, waterfalls and natural pools. Really enjoyed the location as it allowed us to be in proximity to a lot of unique San Ignacio experiences while still feeling secluded from the city when we wanted. The staff and services are fantastic, if we had more time we definitely would’ve taken advantage of their Iguana tours that run hourly, massages/facials/nail treatments, bird watching, and Mayan fishing/cooking experiences. Though we didn’t do the birding experience, we were about to see toucans and other birds from our table at breakfast. There is also a very nice pool with depths from 3-7ft and a tennis court. We were welcomed with incredible smelling fresh cooling towels which was perfect after a long day of travel as well as a great informational tour around the resort. The resort restaurant had a variety of selections and exquisitely prepared food. For breakfast I would recommend the traditional Belize breakfast, breakfast burrito, parfait and green juice. Whatever you end up ordering it will be delicious but be sure to try the fry jacks too! Definitely recommend booking here if visiting San Ignacio and looking for amenities as well as culture during your stay. Cannot stress enough how wonderful everyone was here.

A-MA-ZING! San Ignacio was my first stop along a cross country trip, and I wish I would have stayed longer. The resort is simply beautiful and peaceful, and the customer service is unmatched. I don’t think I have ever met a friendlier staff. I loved being greeted with rum punch and sweet treats by housekeeping. Moreover, the resort staff was cleaning constantly. I booked a standard room that faced the parking lot - it was clean and comfortable yet basic. However, you won’t spend much time inside the room since the resort is so beautiful. I would love to book a large suite the next time around! I read some negative reviews about the restaurant but I disagree. The food was simply delicious and reasonably priced for fine dining. Yes, you will pay less money at the local restaurants but I would highly recommend breakfast and dinner at Running W and go downtown for lunch. The resort is close to attractions. We walked to/from the downtown area, AJAW chocolates, farmers market, and Cahal Pech ruins. I felt completely safe walking around but note that the resort is UPHILL from the city center.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! We received a very warm welcome and an informative resort tour upon arrival, along with a thoughtful personalized letter by our bed, which made us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always going out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience. My room was spotless, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a long, hot day. The breakfast was delicious and filling, with plenty of options to choose from. Still, I opted for the huevos rancheros two days straight.....it was that good! We also especially loved their Cayo Lime Pie, the perfect treat after a day of being a 'Belizean Traveller.' The 24-hour pool was a fantastic perk, ideal for a refreshing dip whenever we wanted. To top it all off, the views surrounding the hotel were simply gorgeous. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!
