Why I Chose Bhutan Travel Center – A Journey Beyond Expectations
Every travel agency aims to provide the best customer experience—but the real question is, which one will truly understand your journey?
When I decided to visit Bhutan 🇧🇹 this year, I contacted several travel agencies. My one non-negotiable: the agency had to be based in Bhutan. That’s how I found myself in touch with Bhutan Travel Center, and ultimately, why I chose them.
As part of my search, I wrote a message explaining why Bhutan was important to me. Only Bhutan Travel Center truly acknowledged and resonated with my reason. Their thoughtful reply told me right away—I had found the right agency.
Now that my trip has concluded, did they deliver?
Absolutely. They exceeded every expectation.
I was treated like royalty. My mind, often burdened by constant decision-making, was finally able to rest. Everything was meticulously arranged, allowing me to focus solely on immersing myself in the beauty and serenity of the Land of the Thunder Dragon—or, as I like to call it, The Last Shangri-La.
Throughout my journey, I was accompanied by Dawa (tour guide) and Mr. Phuba (driver), who took wonderful care of me. Dawa was the perfect guide—knowledgeable, patient, and eager to share Bhutanese culture in a way that helped me truly understand and connect with it. He kept me informed and was always open to my questions.
Mr. Phuba is an exceptional driver. I rarely sleep in cars—always alert for the unexpected—but in Bhutan, I often found myself peacefully dozing off. His calm, steady driving on the country’s winding roads made me feel completely safe and relaxed.
Mr. Sharma, the heart behind Bhutan Travel Center, is the reason I chose them. He acknowledged the personal reason behind my trip and shared a sample itinerary tailored to my interests. What stood out most was his warmth—he made time to personally meet and welcome me to Bhutan. We had dinner together, filled with great conversation. Before I returned to Paro, we met again for coffee—a simple gesture that made a lasting impact.
On my birthday, Mr. Sharma ensured I felt celebrated, even on a solo trip. From breakfast surprises to a heartfelt dinner, he and the team made me feel at home. My deepest thanks to the staff of Punatshangchu Cottage and Dema Resort—you made my day truly special.
To keep my memories alive, I’ve created a dedicated Instagram account: @Sharky0731_Bhutan, where I’ll be sharing photos, videos, and insights from my Bhutan adventure. I invite you to follow along.
To Bhutan Travel Center: Kadrinchey—thank you. I’ll definitely see you again. I wish you all continued...
Read moreA Journey to Bhutan: A Lesson in Knowing When to Stop
My recent 10-day visit to Bhutan gifted me a different perspective about life. In a world where nations sprint toward development, Bhutan has mastered the rare art of knowing where to pause—understanding how much is truly enough to live in harmony with nature. And trust me, deciding where to stop and how much is enough are among the hardest choices to make.
Too often, our ambition blinds us. In our pursuit of growth, we exploit natural resources to the point of self-destruction. But Bhutan stands apart. Did you know it is the world’s only carbon-negative country? Its constitution mandates that at least 60% of the land must remain under forest cover, ensuring that nature is not sacrificed at the altar of progress.
In most parts of the world, when a person hesitates to harm the environment for personal profit, the thought 🤔inevitably creeps in: If I don’t do it, someone else will—and they’ll gain the benefit anyway. So why shouldn’t I? Bhutan eliminates such dilemmas entirely. Government policies ensure that nobody breaks the rule of 60% forest cover, removing individual calculations from the equation.
Instead of fossil fuels, the country harnesses hydroelectric power, making it one of the least fossil-fuel-dependent nations on the planet. This isn’t just conservation—it’s innovation!
🛕A Culture Untouched by Time
Beyond its environmental wisdom, Bhutan possesses an unparalleled cultural richness. Its mountainous terrain and remote location in the Eastern Himalayas have shielded it from external invasions, allowing it to nurture a distinct identity—one that is deeply intertwined with nature. As a result, their sacred sites—temples, monasteries, and landscapes—remain intact, untouched by the chaos of colonization or external aggression.
Now, some may feel the urge to compare Bhutan to Bharat. But let’s pause and reflect: Bharat has endured brutal invasions that left lasting scars. Its sheer size, cultural diversity, and massive population make it a complex entity, incomparable in many ways. Bhutan’s story is one of preservation; Bharat’s is one of resilience.
Bhutan reminds us that development is not just about expansion—it’s about balance. And sometimes, knowing when to stop is the greatest wisdom of all, isn't it? Thanks to Bhutan Travel Centre for arranging a customised...
