This pagoda is a hidden gem of Kolkata...and is located in a serene and quaint area...there is a wooded path area near a waterbody...this place also add up as a place to spend quality time to spend out with your partner...ππ Currently this monument is under renovation... There are many benches lined up beside the lake...where people can sit sit and spend some quality timeππ...this place is kinda safe for lovebirds as this place is not that popular and crowded...so you can enjoy more...π However, this part is not family friendly...ππ

A beautiful architecture in the heart of Kolkata. This pagoda was originally built in Burma (Myanmar). In 1853, Lord Dalhousie brought this pagoda to Kolkata. The pagoda stands on a land surrounded by a waterbody, inside the Eden Uddyan (Park). Proper maintenance of such beautiful architecture is very much needed as several parts of the pagoda have been damaged and large spider webs are hanging from the ceiling! Visitors should also maintain the beauty and sanctity of the place by not throwing chips packets and other garbage in the pagoda premises or not writing their love stories on the pillars of the pagoda.

The Buddha Pagoda inside Eden Gardens is a striking and culturally significant feature of this historic park in Kolkata. Officially known as the Burmese Pagoda, it stands out for its intricate design and historical value. The pagoda was originally brought to Kolkata from Myanmar (formerly Burma) during the British colonial period. It reflects the deep cultural and historical ties between India and Myanmar. Its presence symbolizes a blend of spirituality and cross-cultural heritage. The top of the pagoda features a golden dome, which gleams in sunlight, adding to its spiritual aura.

It is actually inside the Eden Gargen Park. Nice, calm and serene place. You can go alone and sit there for hours enjoying solitude. Excellent place for couples, photographers, bloggers with good scenery of pond and foliage in front. No ticket is needed to enter, it's absolutely free of cost. But don't forget to put off your shoes.
