Come here maybe for the food and the view but DO NOT STAY. Extremely rude service right from checking in. Miscommunication galore and people dnt know how to smile. We were there for my bday weekend and although we were told the river view rooms were available but was only provided 2 out of 3(prices being the same). The attitude of the people checking in made me ask “why did I come here?” That’s still okay but the real problem started once we checked in. We had to make multiple requests to get towels, slippers and an iron. It was dirty and my pricey white linen shirt got damaged. No solution was provided and no apologies. Someone came over and said Sorry only after we had multiple alterations. Then in the night, after dinner, when we went to sleep the non river facing room had horrible smell. The room service folks came and even they couldn’t stand and overhearing them it felt it was a common issue. After making me wait another 15 mins I was offered another similar room only to find it had horrible cigarette smoke smell. After another 15 mins of standing, 3 calls and a long trip to the reception someone finally came over and offered another room which was by the entrance. The room was dusty (see picture where one can clearly see the dust flying around under the light) however by then I was too tired to fight and just needed a place to crash. The room was bombarded with constant noise coming from the main door and the staff (and some other guests) using them till late in the night and chatting among themselves all the while hauling heavy items around( or I have no idea what other way metal on metal banging noise will be created). Nevertheless, woke up with heavy head with no sleep to get breakfast and leave asap. Avoid room 212 at all cost.
Checked out and still no apologies.
Stay away from staying here. Location is their selling point and food is at best mediocre but yeah, the view from the restaurant is the only one that’s worth it if you want to enjoy it...

This unique ship-hotel, anchored on the Hooghly River, offers a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern luxury. The buffet spread at Polo Floatel is impressive, featuring a wide array of dishes to cater to different tastes and preferences. From local delicacies to international cuisines, there is something for everyone here. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, reflecting the culinary expertise of the chefs. However, one area that could be improved is the starter section, as it felt a bit lacking compared to the rest of the offerings.
The main course was delicious, with a good selection of dishes to choose from. The desserts were also quite impressive, with a wide range of items to satisfy any sweet tooth. However, it would have been nice to see some ice cream among the dessert options.
The service at Polo Floatel is impeccable, with attentive staff members ensuring that all your needs are met promptly.
