My family and I lived in Oroville and picked apples for the Goulds back in the 70"s. From what I can see on Google earth, the house we lived in which was the Goulds grandparents house with all the small shacks behind it are still there except the house has been updated and there's no longer an orchard by the house. We used to walk down to the lake which I see now has a resort. It's sad to see how much has changed. It was a very hard time in our life but looking back now there's so many great memories. I always wondered what happened to the Goulds. I still have pictures of that house of us standing out front with the Goulds sign. I gotta find them and post them. I'd love to show the people that own that house now how it looked back then. I wish someone who knows them would see this and mention it to them, if they remember the Bennetts. There was 9 of us kids. Most would go off to pick apples while me and my 2 younger siblings went to school. I remember while on the bus watching them caring the ladders and apple picking bags heading into the orchard. Anyways, I hope to someday make it out there to see that house and how much Oroville...

Locals are very welcoming. They do love snowbirds. First question everyone asks is "where are you from"? Snowbirds contribute to their winter economy. I have met people from Ontario to Northern BC. Golf comes early.
The population is apparently 6000 in the winter and 65,000 in the summer during tourist season, Summer. Known to have temps in the high 30's.
