Let me start off by saying that our server was extremely kind and welcoming, and the chai lattes were good. But that is where the positives end.

We ordered mozzarella cheese sticks and poutines. The mozzarella cheese sticks looked and tasted like the frozen kind from Costco. An order only contained 6 of them. They were small, and not hot enough to get a good cheese pull. They were served with sour cream and salsa that tasted exactly like the Tostitos mild kind from the jar. This is a meal you could make yourself at home for less than $2 however they charge $13.95.

Now on to the poutine. The poutine is NOT poutine. We specifically chose this restaurant because of a picture of the poutine from a different review, however that picture was apparently of butter chicken poutine which is no longer available. (At least this is what we were told).

Order poutine with caution. This restaurant does not use cheese curds for their poutine. They use shredded mozzarella cheese. The fries were not crispy—they were limp and soft. The gravy was fine. It would have been nice to have been told that the poutine they offered was not true poutine made with cheese curds prior to ordering, as we had talked about places that have good poutine, and making good poutine at home with our server while waiting for our meals. Unfortunately, she did not let us know and we ended up paying $14.95 each for two virtually untouched “poutines” before leaving.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The service was good enough but the food left much to be desired and we waited over 30 minutes in a virtually empty restaurant for incredibly disappointing, extremely...

I ordered takeout from this restaurant and it was an absolute disaster. I got the Fish Pakora for nearly $13 and was shocked to find just seven tiny bite-sized pieces in the container. It was a total rip-off. When I went back the next day to express my frustration, the staff — especially the lady at the counter — were incredibly rude and dismissive. No empathy, no apology, nothing. Her body language said it all: “I don’t care.”

When I asked why such a small quantity was being served at such a high price, they brushed it off saying “business is down.” That’s no excuse for overcharging customers and serving substandard food. The Fish Pakora itself was pathetic — not even real pakora — just dry, flavorless grilled fish pretending to be something it’s not.

To make things worse, the Chicken Curry was equally bad. The gravy was overloaded with tomatoes, lacked any balance or flavor, and tasted ridiculous. It felt like a poorly thrown-together dish with zero authenticity.

As a tourist, this experience was really disheartening. The food was bad, the service was worse, and the attitude of the staff was just plain unacceptable.

If you really want to enjoy Indian food, skip this place and go to The Flames Restaurant instead — it’s miles ahead in taste, quality, and hospitality. Don’t waste your money or...

We’ve come to Osoyoos many times but Have never eaten at this restaurant. Read the reviews online which looked pretty good. Upon first entering, the reviews are pretty consistent that the interior decor is dated but very clean. You can tell they’ve done an amazing job keeping some of the original ambience set. Our starter was the fish pakora and it did not disappoint. The flavors were absolutely amazing and the bite-size pieces of fish were actually much larger than bite-size and perfectly cooked. Our main entrée was the palak lamb. Once again we were overwhelmed with the flavor and substance of the dish. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the spinach sauce was amazing. The portion size was very generous. I am a bigger man and I took half of mine back to the hotel. The accompanying rice and Naan were cooked perfectly. What put this place over the top was the service.. Obviously this is a family run business. While we were there you could tell the other locals eating that also mention to eat there very often. Rarely do I give a 30% tip but I did here. When asked how we liked the food, my wife said we have to find a way to figure out how to move here so that we can eat here all the time. An amazing dinner and I can’t...

I recently visited Ambrosia Family Restaurant for lunch, and I was left incredibly disappointed with the quality of the food. As someone who enjoys authentic Indian cuisine, I found myself questioning if this was truly Indian food. I ordered the Chana Bhatura, which had no flavor whatsoever, and the Paneer Chilli was essentially just capsicum and paneer in a bland gravy. The naan was hard and inedible. Nothing stood out in terms of taste, and it was a letdown. The only saving grace was the excellent service. Ashley, our server, was polite, energetic, and represented the restaurant well. However, the effort from the kitchen staff did not match up to her dedication. I was hoping for an authentic and enjoyable meal, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning anytime soon.

I drove by this restaurant several times and decided not to stop in because there were no cars parked out front so and it was just kind of "there". I read a few reviews online and decided to give it a try for brunch on Thanksgiving weekend. When I walked in, the smells of curry made me change my mind from wanting breakfast so I ordered vegetable pakora and butter chicken. Despite the average first impression, I would highly recommend this restaurant. The service was absolutely phenomenal! The food was delicious. The menu was expansive, so there is something for everyone. It is an absolutely lovely, family-run restaurant. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because the naan bread was not homemade. FYI there is lots of parking in back :-)
