My 3yr old son and I were enjoying our regular walk in Elora, see the river, birds, fish etc.
We walked by this place and my son asked if he could have ice cream, so we stopped at the OUTDOOR order window, a nice girl who worked there told me we could not be served because we did not have masks on, I explained that the local public health guidelines clearly states that masking outdoors is NOT required, she told me she was just doing her job, I was respectful and asked if I could speak to the manager/owner.
After waiting for 10 mins or so a lady came outside, told me that because of the out of town traffic in Elora, she took it upon herself to be extra safe and not serve people who choose (or unable for medical reasons) to not wear a mask OUTSIDE. I tried to explain that the professionals at public health do risk assessments and if there was a risk then mask mandates outside would be a thing, they are NOT.
After she called me a “DICK” in front of my son for not wearing a mask, she then questioned my parenting abilities and told me she did not care for my business.
I have a few options how to handle this, I’m awaiting some responses as to how to move forward. For now I will be advising everyone to NOT spend their $ here, there are plenty of ice cream shops in town that respect and appreciate...
Read moreI recently visited Elora for the first time and was excited to try the ice cream from a vendor called "Scoops." Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to poor service. I placed my order, but to my surprise, several customers who ordered after me received their ice cream before I did — in fact, around 6 or 7 customers were served before me. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the employee serving ice cream appeared to be aware that I was still waiting, yet continued to serve others without any acknowledgment of the delay. I believe this could be attributed to discrimination, and I felt that my presence was ignored. I understand that service delays can happen, but the lack of attention and consideration in this case left a negative impression. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and ensures all customers are treated fairly and with respect...
Read moreStopped by for a scoop of ice cream, ordered a coconut macaroon as written on the side board. Waited a few minutes. Took my order and had a bite since I doubted the appearance and it tasted so chocolaty because it looked just like some random chocolate ice cream. Took it back because I felt it was a wrong order. And I was told no it’s the right order and that coconut macaroon has chocolate- okay i believe you, but It didn’t taste coco nutty at all. Well I guess that’s why at most places we get to see the ice creams on display and get to try them too. Would have been nice if the item read as Coconut Chocolate Macaroon or something like that since the store concept doesn’t allows us to see the ice creams or try them too. Could have tried something else and enjoyed my walk better...
