The staff is super rude and ignorant towards their customers, Had an awful experience with a bald black guy, I believe his name is Ugene, I have seen him around for years. I have had my tongue bit for a long time and everyone’s voice should be heard and this needs to be an acknowledged.
I am concerned in his energy towards people and it’s very unsettling. I think it’s rude and disrespectful the way he approaches women or men and watch’s people because I was told “that’s his job”. By the front desk elderly lady with blonde hair… who also decided to kick me out for being myself and minding my business. After I got harassed by him.
I have been to nicer facilities and no one watches if machines are being kept clean or people getting harassed.
I understand this is a rec centre it’s no different from any other gym or facility… unless the staff here are just very nosey and have nothing better to do.
I think people should be treated better and not have someone looking over their shoulder while they are training because of lack of cleanliness…
I think this is somthing that needs to be addressed better so people don’t feel forced or threatened by a staff member acting out of the ordinary.
It’s a very uncomfortable feeling. I did not appreciate his attitude towards me, especially to an owner of a beautiful cleaning company with high paying clients.
I think Ugene needs to find a new “job” Instead of breathing on people and acting unprofessionally…. I have witnessed his attitude towards another customer at Esquimalt rec centre as well, It’s an unpleasant situation. I have talked to other staff members and have had no...
Read moreDespite the location (Colwood) this is actually a very nice facility. The pool is nice and open, with lots of areas for kids to play. There are basically 3 pools here, a colder pool for swimming laps, or using the diving board, a middle pool for misc and a kiddie pool with a playground for fun. There is a tot slide and one of those figure 8 current pools that sucks you about. The waterslide here is very nice and the staff are quite lenient about going down. You can go head first, on your back, on your knees etc. Many pools in town restrict you to back only, feet first. Finally a pool with a bit of relaxed common sense. There are also spacious hot tubs here with a nice view of the pools and the outdoors through the glass. And to top it all off they have a "scrambled word of the day" that you can try to unmix while relaxing in the pool. They are extremely difficult, I don't believe I've ever got one. I usually have to ask a life guard for the solution. Overall a great facility, clean, friendly staff and lots of options. I think there is a hockey rink here too but who cares...
Read moreSenior rate for pickleball has been ELIMINATED (as of January 2022) must pay $6.85 for drop in or purchase punch passes-do they not want Seniors to be active, not many Adults are retired and able to play in the day (just a money grab)? Punch passes and Regional passes include taxes but they are unaware that taxes are included when advertising prices! $44.10 for 10X Senior pass plus tax they say, but $44.10 is actual price; $504 for Regional is also full price! No one contacts waitlist for pickleball when someone cancels so rarely do you have the full 12 players, which can be awkward for subbing in players and very annoying if you want to play and are not contacted. Receptionists at front desk never seem to acknowledge you, unless you're doing a drop in and I've even seen people waiting at the front desk for someone to come out from the back area. I think they could try harder (or at least act...
