A fairly unique way to get yourself a view of the surrounding area; although not a whole lot more than that. Some information on the wind turbine is included, but don't expect to be in the pod with the blades spinning around in the wind. That would apparently be too dangerous. And don't expect to get crystal-clear photographs of the view - between the outside subject to the environment, the inside subject to greasy fingerprints and the reflection-prone curved pod, you'll be better off taking your perfect landscape photographs from ground level (which is obviously, still at the top of a hill).

The scenic chairlift is included in the Grouse Mountain entry ticket and is a must-do attraction. Unfortunately the day I went was quite foggy so it wasn't possible to see Vancouver in the distance while on the chairlift and it was quite eerie sitting on the lift and going through fog. It is a very surreal experience to ride the chairlift while being unable to see more than 50 feet in any direction due to fog but it's still a worthwhile experience. We were able to see one of the resident grizzly bears while still on the lift because he decided to sit on a nearby rock and watch us watch him.

This is a cool spot. On a good day you can see Mount Rainier. Most days the conditions don't allow that. Sadly, when we were there, the smoke from the fires limited even seeing Vancouver. The cost to go to the top of the wind turbine for viewing is $14 regardless of conditions. They should adjust the cost on the weather and visibility. We were there on a $2 weather day, so the $14 would have been a bad deal and we decided not to go. Everything else on the mountain is really cool though. From the birds of prey show and bear exhibit, to the five zip lines, there is much to do.

The eye of the wind has been closed for well over a year, no one can go up, and it doesnt spin. They dont promote it, and dont sell tickets to go up it to the observation platform.

Its a scam, built by a guy who wanted a tourist viewing platform, and who lied to North Van District by selling a green concept of a power generator that was advertised to create 25% of Grouse Mtn's power needs.

It was built in a spot for the best view, not for favourable winds, and is otherwise locked down, so it at its peak only has generated 2% of Grouses needs. A $1.5million boondoggle.

In the end, its a useless Q-tip standing on the top of Grouse, and has been forgotten...

The eye of the wind is one of the best view points in BC. Going up the gondola first, then going up the ski lift to the eye. Once you get to the eye you then take the smallest elevator you've ever been in to the top of the viewing spot near the top of the windmill. Not only can you see Vancouver but you can see all 4 downtown's in the greater Vancouver area without a pair of binoculars. I went up in the summer and took the best photos ever! I'm a big frisbee golfer and they have this crazy golf course near the top that will give you a great exercise when playing a round on grouse mountain. My experience here will always be remembered. Totally...
