It was really beautiful. Especially the bird watching show and the two bears that live there make the place very very interesting! Below is my research and opinion about Grouse Mountain: Grouse Mountain Resort is a world-renowned ski resort located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. With its stunning views of the surrounding mountains and coastline, it is a popular destination for skiers, snowboarders, and outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. One of the main highlights of Grouse Mountain Resort is its diverse range of ski and snowboarding runs, which cater to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. From wide cruisers to challenging black diamond runs, visitors can enjoy a day on the slopes, taking in the stunning scenery and pushing their limits. The resort also offers a range of ski and snowboarding lessons, making it the perfect place for beginners to learn the sport. Another must-see attraction at Grouse Mountain Resort is the Eye of the Wind, a revolutionary wind turbine that provides visitors with a unique and breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and coastline. Visitors can take a tour of the turbine, learning about its design and operation, or simply enjoy the view from the observation deck. In addition to its ski and snowboarding offerings, Grouse Mountain Resort is also a popular destination for year-round outdoor activities. Visitors can hike the famous Grouse Grind, a challenging trail that takes them to the top of the mountain, or take part in a range of other outdoor activities, including ziplining, ropes courses, and wildlife encounters. The resort is also home to a number of dining options, including the upscale Observatory restaurant, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and the cozy Altitudes Bistro, which serves up classic mountain fare in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Grouse Mountain Resort is a truly exceptional place that offers something for everyone. Whether you're a seasoned skier or snowboarder, an outdoor enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique and memorable experience, it is a must-visit destination in British Columbia.

Expensive admission for one day. If you live locally it would be best to buy an annual pass. Great place to hike. Affords beautiful views of Vancouver and the Burrard Inlet. Great rooftop restaurant for a hot, sunny day with great outdoor views. There is a cafeteria-style restaurant as well. The Grouse Grind is a trail that goes from the bottom of the mountain to the top. Apparently, it takes you about three hours to do it. Then you can take the SkyRide gondola down for just $20. There are lots of events and activities, so it's a good place to take the whole family. Activities are an additional fee. Included with admission are ranger talks, owl talks, chairlift to the peak, mountain disc golf, grizzly bear habitat, lumberjack show, self-guided walks, and the kids tree canopy adventure. For an extra charge you can do zip lining and the Mountain Ropes Adventure. There is even a native long house display!

I was too chicken to go the way of the trail all the way up so I used the Gondola ride. The gondola ride itself was thrilling, just seeing all of Vancouver from a dizzy height of 4,000ft! It was a nice hot day so once up the mountain it was really cool (be mindful of the change in temperature at the top from the bottom I know this because my nephew had a nose bleed but the staff were really helpful and took us to the sickbay to attend to him). Deer roam freely so watch out but the bears are in an enclosure. The Skyride to the peak of Grouse Mountain is not for the faint hearted! It was fun and once at the peak, you can definitely see all of Vancouver and the skyscrapers look so tiny! Surprisingly, the time flew by so quickly we didn’t get to do the zip lining. Well worth a visit.

Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Christmas – A Peak Waste of Money

Save yourself the disappointment and keep your $150 in your wallet. My wife, 9-year-old daughter, and I braved Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Christmas, and let me tell you, it was less “peak holiday magic” and more “peak regret.”

First, the basics: you pay a hefty price for a gondola ride up the mountain. Sounds exciting, right? Well, buckle up, because once you’re there, everything else costs extra. Sleigh rides? Not available during our visit, but they would’ve been another cash grab if they were. Ice skating? $15 for rentals, plus the added bonus of a full workout trying to undo the laces tied by what I can only assume was an overzealous ogre. After multiple exchanges, we finally got skates that didn’t require a crowbar to put on.

The sledding hill? Let’s just say my 9-year-old gave it one look and said, “Is that it?” It was so small and underwhelming that I half-expected to see a sign reading, “Closed due to lack of enthusiasm.”

Then there was the reindeer experience. Imagine our excitement at seeing “reindeer” listed on the itinerary! Now picture our faces when we found ONE lonely reindeer in a small enclosure, sleeping. That was it. As for the educational talk from the “reindeer ranger,” it was hard to follow because of a very strong accent (and no, not Nordic) that made it nearly impossible to understand. The whole thing felt like a forced school assembly with none of the charm.

Inside the lodge, there were carolers who were passable (think mall Santa levels of enthusiasm), Christmas movies playing on repeat (fun if you came all the way up the mountain to sit indoors), and… not much else.

This whole event felt like a holiday cash-grab with zero charm or effort. Unless you enjoy throwing money into a snowbank, I strongly recommend skipping this disappointment disguised as a Christmas experience. Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Christmas? More like Valley...
