Lakemount Worship Centre — Attraction in Grimsby

I am posting a new review after 9 and a half months in!! At Lakemount, I find it so easy to be present with God. Finally, after many years of searching, I've found a church where my soul is at home to question, to search, to be vulnerable, to strive and build my faith---His Kingdom come!!!! People are friendly, there are greeters with big authentic smiles, lots of parking and accessible parking, too. They also have 3 minutes during each service where they have fun ways of encouraging us to connect. Makes it easier to ask for prayer at the end of service, and to get and give prayer requests and to stand for one another as a body of Christ. Young Adult program is only for those 18-28 years old, and I aged out sadly. It was heartbreaking because the worship is just so, so powerful and God centred. I love seeing the Pastors gently inviting the congregation to dance in the Spirit, like David! I am a new Christian and love the bible-focused sermons with the scripture verses referenced on the projector. You can sing along as they put the words up on the projector, too! You cannot bring your pets, I only ever see people there but I wonder in the future if they might host a bring-you-dog-to-church day, or outdoor sermons. They have many different projects to contribute to the wider community and I especially loved taking Alpha here, and am looking forward to the Essentials course. They also have an Internship program to help shape you into Christ's image and I'm all for it! I applied and didn't get in, but am excited to apply again next year if my life allows for it.

99% of the time, there are 2 services: 9am and 11:30am. The 9am service has a hard end time--so if you are short on time, I would suggest going to that one. 11:30am is more free flowing and Holy Spirit-led, so it can go as late as 1:30pm or even 2:45pm. Occasionally, there is only one service at 10am.

Pastor Matt Tapley and his wife Pastor Lisa, in my humble opinion, are amazing hands and feet of God and truly convicting preachers of the Word. They are just normal people, as imperfect as anyone else, which makes them even more endearing. I fell to my knees in tears and was touched by God my first time there and have been following and joyfully chasing after Jesus ever since!

Throughout the week I tune in to hear the word from Pastor Matt and the exceptional guest pastors, all the way from the other side of the continent. Online there are literally thousands of choices for an online service. Nothing else I’ve found compares to hearing the word delivered from Lakemount. Non Political, grounded in the true word of the Bible and Holy Spirit led. Pastor Matt preaches to his congregation with such clarity, respect and reverence. He always takes you on a journey through the Bible. And he’s hilarious. The message always stays with me. PLUS the worship team is stellar. I love this church. It is Holy Spirit led and the team is passionate about finding a place for you in their home so you can make it your home. Love lives there. Pasture Matt, is constantly sending a powerful message through a positive and witty take. Worship is powerful bc you feel the weightiness of the Lord- you can’t help but feel the conviction when the music starts. Like I said, love this church.
