Nelles Manor Museum — Attraction in Grimsby

Grimsby's newest museum is a true treasure. Barry and Linda Coutts took a 200+ year old home, spent their lives restoring it, and then donated it to create a museum.

There are good people who care about their communities who do special things every day, but this type of lifetime commitment and financial gift is incredibly rare.

Attended the Halloween Ghost Tour this year and was very impressed! The Manor was filled with actors bringing history to life (or death, as it was a ghost tour). We were also given opportunities to participate in the acting which was great fun. The evening ended with hot cider and cookies and a little gift for everyone to take home. Very much looking forward to another visit for the historical tour, which I haven't had the opportunity to go on yet, and maybe the Christmas tour when (I'm told) the Manor is splendidly decorated...

What a beautiful historic landmark in Downtown Grimsby! We stopped in for the 10 am tour and it was absolutely an amazing experience! Mark our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the Nelles family and their participation in the history of Niagara and Grimsby itself. We asked lots of questions and it was very difficult to stump Mark on any dates or facts of the manor or the surrounding region !
