We came across this location and visited the Mary Gallery, while visiting the Pier 22 area. I was charmed by the artworks and designs made by the NSCAD students, as each shared a deep and meaningful story behind each artwork made by our future aspiring artists. It's very clean, minimalistic in design but did not take away from the show. It's free admission too, so why not drop by? You won't regret it!

The place we were is called the Mary Black Gallery, a par of the Centre for Craft Nova Scotia. A friend and I went there to view Airing the Archives 1974 and 1986. This timeframe is now approaching ancient history if one was born after that time. The exhibit of quilts, embroidery, and weaving is truly wonderful. It has four stars because it gives a start date for this exhibit, but no end date.....

Great job by local artists with the current show “Elbows Up”!!!! Artists have always recorded history and events and this is a great curated display of just that! Some serious, some with humour. It’s small and powerful! 🎤 which kinda relates to the show beside it that has a theme of “hands” which is cleverly done also. Thanks artists of Halifax.
