Of the couple of beaches we've visited so far in the Invermere area, Kinsmen is our favourite. Lots of great tree shelter, good change facility and lockers, showers, a concession stand, picnic benches, a large playground, volley ball courts, decent parking (make sure you angle park everywhere, or you will be ticketed!), and a splash park for the kids! (This is also a very easy way to get them to shower lol). I don't know, this beach just felt much more intimate to me, which made it feel nice. There is a train crossing just behind the beach, but it never really seemed obtrusive to me. There's also a pond right beside where there are a ton of painted turtles - our kids had fun looking for them. We noticed that people generally showed up later, so if you were there by noon you were getting a good spot and parking. Lovely views to the south...

Weather was warm but i still find Canadian lakes still too cold for this girl lol. Hubby enjoyed swimming. Went on a Thursday so was still busy but not hectic. Wasps can get a lil needy so pack food accordingly. The only couple things for us was it was alongside railway so several trains loudly blowing past. There were firest fires near sonthe watercrafts were flying over and by us constantly. In my previous experience , allowing bbqs attract the wrong kind of people who dont invest any money in town except to take up large areas of the beach where they bring several people along and leave big messes for someone else to clean up . Families who visit , shop and eat in town typically dont commiserate in large groups and respect and leave the park the way...
