Okay coffee and brunch fans, if you don’t have a passport, I highly recommend that you get your rear in gear and get one. Then hightail it to Invermere, Canada (Alberta) and have breakfast/brunch at Begginnings. The facility feels a bit austere inside but cozy and comfortable on their outside dining porch. The tables and booths are spaced in a reasonable manner so you don’t feel like you are sitting on your neighbor. They have a great lounge area with big overstuffed leather couches where you can catch up with friends for coffee. They have a full bar! What? This is breakfast. I’ve seen a few Bloody Mary’s walk past. The breakfast menu is scanned on your phone camera. Just line up the scan and it automatically gives you the website menu. Just touch “begginnings.com” with your thumb as it appears on your screen and it takes you right to the menu. I am trying to help take the intimidation off of scanning menus. Anyway, the menu is formidable with all of the lovely breakfast selections you can imagine. The food presentation is so wonderful that you want to fall face first right onto your plate. I resisted the spectacle and ate like a lady. I can’t say enough about this place. It is my favorite coffee and breakfast establishment in Canada. Worth the drive from Bonners Ferry, Idaho with an overnight at Fairmont Hot Springs in Fairmont, Canada, just 15 miles...
Read moreThis is a step up from a standard breakfast diner type restaurant, but with a bunch of weirdness.
The hours are breakfast only….which is somewhat strange with the location and size of the place.
The interior is really weird.
I don’t know the history, but it sure feels and looks like it may have just been / still is;
-a crappy basement nightclub playing mainly 80’s banger tunes.
-a Germanic wedding / dance hall
-the basement to a department store
-creepy warehouse dollar store
Like, if you come in the side door, you can go right to a lounge / hotel lobby type setting, or you can go left to an open Asbestos floor tile dance hall with raised dj booth in the corner.
Enough on weird vibe
Food was ok
CHIMICHURRI - oregano, parsley, vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic, chili, oil
Hard to mess that up
What they delivered…… Cilantro and oil…..with pickled red onion…..missed that by a mile!
The Pesto chicken sandwich was off too, some strange imbalance, not good pesto.
So, they tried to offer some elevated choices, but didn’t quite hit anything.
Very much a Mexican all inclusive attempting to imitate international cuisine, and serving fried rice as a Japanese steakhouse item.
Would not recommend, unless you are looking...
Read moreThis my second time here and I hate to leave a bad review. I am a local and really try to support local business. My first trip here was not great but wanted to try again. However, our weekday lunch service was extremely slow. Especially considering there were 4-5 tables and 2 waitesses working. The london fog tasted like sweet vanilla milk, absolutely no earl grey in it. When I complained was told that is how they do it there. When we finally did get our meals after 40 minutes. Waitress did come back and asked if everything was alright. However, she didn't even wait for our answer before turning and walking away. Risotto was bland and still crunchy. Finally got to voice our displeasure as we went to pay, she still didn't seem to care and asked us if we wanted to talk to manager. He showed up and we explained, he told us to hold on he would look into it. He walked away and never even went into the kitchen, when he came back at least he had removed risotto from the bill. I will have to think hard if I will give...
