This mightâve been the greatest dining experience of my life.
Upon arriving to this fine establishment, we were greeted by a Viking warrior who put us in a battle ready mood. This was just the begging of our life changing quest.
Starting first with the cocktails, every drink our regime of 6 ordered was crafted with raw excellence. My Greyhound Mule unlocked my seventh chakra and put me on the perfect path to enlightenment during the main course. That being said, nothing could have prepared me for the journey that I was about to be taken on.
Upon receiving my Ullr Classic Fried Chicken, I understood that I had made the correct choice. The plate came to me covered with crispy, golden brown pieces of chicken, gracefully connected on the plate by a godsent aioli. These golden goddesses were adorned with aioli themselves along with pickled onions and jalapeños that created the perfect flavor combination.
Upon my first bite, I felt an out of body experience. Imagine the scene in Ratatouille when Remy makes Emile try fruit and cheese for the first time. As the flavors collided in my mouth, I was transported to an ethereal plane where I met the Viking gods and dined with them.
My family looked at me with concern, but this was nothing to be afraid of. The chicken itself was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The breading, as crispy as could be yet light as a feather. I could not believe the perfection taking place in my mouth.
Despite my primal urges to scarf down my meal, I ensured that I took my time to experience the raw pleasure that every bite contained. Upon finishing my plate, I was still at a loss for words as to what I experienced.
A day later, Iâve finally come to terms with what I experienced. Not only was this the greatest chicken Iâve ever eaten, but this was the greatest dining experience Iâve ever had. I pray that my fellow Vikings who visit the area will stop in and experience what I did yesterday.
Thank you Ullr for allowing me to feel things...
Read moreWhat a cool spot! We found this spot whilst looking online for neat/different places to dine during our vacation - so glad we gave it a try and will certainly be back next time we are in the area! For starters, we were a larger group of 7 adults and 3 smaller kids - they could not have been kinder or more accommodating, setting us up on the patio and taking the time to ensure there was shade for the littles. Our server was fantastic and patient as everyone asked menu and drink questions, made great suggestions and kept a constant smile on her face. One of our party was recently diagnosed as celiac and one of the kiddos has some significant allergies and so eating out can be a challenge, but the server and the kitchen were AMAZING - understanding, offered alternatives and were very up front about any potential limitations. When our group's person w/ celiac mentioned she had hoped for shrimp tacos, she was told there would be cross contamination via the fryer - but rather than disappoint her, our server went and asked the chef if he would be willing to pan fry some shrimp to avoid contamination. The place was packed, lineup out the door, and they STILL made this generous accommodation for her! It's been a real stressor to find places that understand and this kind gesture truly made a difference. The fried chicken, in all forms they offer, is tremendous and I highly recommend - as are the truffle parm taters. The drink menu was impressive and everything came out in a timely manner. They even fed the kids first, without being asked!! Everyone enjoyed their meals and we left with smiles on our faces. My only regret is that our vacation plans didn't allow us to get back there for one more meal. Guess we will have to plan another visit sometime in the near future. Thanks Ullr for a great...
Read morePartner and I came here during a trip with family when we opted out of Chinese food. It was busy and there was a line upon arrival but we were seated promptly! We ordered a drink each and had a meal. He ordered the dirty bird with a Ceasar salad with light dressing and I had the Rad thai bowl. His salad was delicious, even with the light sauce, it was hugely flavourful and very garlic forward. The Kale was tender, fresh and the croutons were light, crisp and made in house. My pad thai was lovely but very.. flavourful. Mind you, I personally get overwhelmed easily by tangy/sour foods. I have to say the tofu was my favorite part because of this! As it cooled, the tang of the pad thai mellowed out and the flavour became more peanut forward. I feel the food review would have gotten 5 stars on my end if I had asked for light sauce for my pad thai. I'll have to try it again that way next time. :) My partner loved his food. "I wish I hadn't topped up so much on snacks before we came." He says the burger was good, salad was anazing and that the jam on the burger was interesting (in a good way!) We will...
