Spice Hut Indian Cuisine. — Restaurant in Invermere

What can i say about this restaurant. We went to restaurant after seeing the reviews online thinking they have great customer service and food but none was good for us. They asked us if we all 10 people sit on different tables order different food pay separately and order with our own families they will still charge gratuity to each individual order and tables where in we asked what is the policy of gratuity and show us that policy if you charge for each table. We were 3 families came with our own cars but they still told we came together just because we were brown and indian. They have treated us unfairly and told different policies about their gratuity. They cant be so racist with indian people. They told all other ethnicity people to come welcome and take a sit on the table. They told restaurant dont have space for 10 people. I show atleast 5 tables which were empty and atleast space for 15 people to dine in. Not only that but they messed with my order after paying for takeout. So guys please watchout for their scams and their way of treating people. Their food is not good too. I am from edmonton and we have way better food. Do not cheat people just because you are the only one restaurant in ivermere. I had such a great welcoming experience for pizza store in ivermere who were italian and also never showed any attitude of having more business in this town. This review is very loud and clear that please dont spend your money here where they dont care about customers. They cant judge people by their skin color. You never know any person can give tips if you dont force them to give because of any policy which is just a word of their own mouth. They are franchisee in british columbia and they might be doing this at each location. The 2 girls working at restaurant on Saturday 8th 2023 at 7:05 PM in evening told with a attitude that i am manager and we dont have anyone hear to our complaint about service and policy feedback. Learn how to serve welcome and provide exceptional service instead judging them and asking them to pay gratuity. The gratuity is earned not imposed. Worst service from an indian restaurant to their own indian people. I feel like this is the first restaurant in my lifetime where they have disrespected...

Amazing family friendly restaurant. I visited with my family, and we were blown away by the flavours of the food. I personally had one of the best culinary experiences at this restaurant tonight, said as a former restaurant worker and food enthusiast. :) One of my family members, who had quite a bit of different Indian foods throughout the years, said that the flavours and dining experience were immaculate. Another family member said that the chicken tandoori was the most delectable piece of chicken fillet that he had ever bitten into. He was blown away by the tenderness and juiciness of the chicken tandoori. Overall, the flavours were perfectly balanced and all of the different dishes that we ordered complemented so well with one another. The only thing I wish could change about the entire experience, is to order the spicier variety of the dishes. ;) The heat combined perfectly with the different spices, to create a culinary Indian masterpiece.

Regarding the service, Deepika served our family with a kind smile, and patient demeanour as she explained all the different dishes and the options best suitable for each of us at the table. Between taking our orders and serving our food in a timely manner, she was calmly and efficiently taking care of the cleanliness, bills, and orders of the other patrons in the establishment. Creating the perfect atmosphere for a pleasant and immersive dining experience, where one can fully enjoy the food in front of them and feast with the soul as well.

Thank you so much for serving us Deepika, you are a friendly, conscientious and hard working woman. I wish you all the best with all that you set your mind to. Because according to your service and our brief conversation, you are a determined woman with a warm-hearted spirit. Keep walking forward, with all that you aspire to do.

Would...

When we arrived there was little bit of waiting so we stood there patiently waiting for our turn. It was almost after half an hour we got the table. We sat there and one of the ladies took the order. We thought it would just take few minutes until the order would arrive. It was almost an hour and we wanted to know the status of our order as our 5 yr old was hungry by the time. When asked the lady said its still in the kitchen. We still patiently waited. Another lady came to offer ice water and I asked her for normal water, so she had a weird look on her face. She went inside and brought still cold water. It clearly shows they don't pay attention to what you ask.

This same lady when I said thank you to her did not respond or smile just gave a weird look again, while she went and talked to other people of color very nicely, it clearly she was not very welcoming towards people of colour though she herself is an Indian. Really disappointed by this behavior towards us.

We thought since we had a child atleast they would bring her order quickly as we just asked for fries and tandoori prawns for our little one. We were okay if our order was delayed.

My husband went and asked again and the lady still said it's in the kitchen.By now our patience was really at its peak so we asked them to cancel our order. The lady went inside and did not come back. It clearly showed they were not very happy to have Indian customers though they are running an Indian restaurant. We just left from there after wasting our valuable time. They should learn how customer service works and treat everyone equally. Shame on them for such a behavior and no courtesy at all for their customers. I really don't recommend this restaurant for any Indian at all. THEY ARE RACIST TOWARDS EVERY PERSON OF COLOR. DO NOT GO ALL YOU WOULD GET IS DISAPPOINTMENT....
