Trent-Severn Waterway, Lock 34 - Fenelon Falls — Attraction in Kawartha Lakes

One of the only waterfalls I have ever seen that is this size, aside from Niagara Falls which I have only seen once, this waterfall I have grown up with and it's been a pretty nice part of my life, just remember two very important things from one local to another 😀, don't swim anywhere near it, and no, I don't just mean at the base of it, I mean at the top either, the Hydro Forbay is a no go, the Flow Control Gates are computer controlled and will open depending on electrical demand on the grid, so you don't want to be sitting there when one of them opens or else you will get sucked under like a goldfish in a toilet.

Also, while not near as dangerous, the other Forbay definitely used to be a forbay and had and may still have channels that lead to the old Hydro Plant that you could fall into, either way, it's fences off which means that your not supposed to go in there.

Most of the cool kids in town always used to swim at the Rail Bridge, you can Jump off it and have a real blast, but make sure to do it properly, (I don't know how to do it properly because I saw some guy skin the bottom of his foot of doing it once, and vowed to never do try it or anything like it ever, under any circumstances 😀) so always remember, being safe is better than being paralyzed 😆😆😄.

Next up, if you really want to have some fun, then consider doing some cliff jumping, I hear it's a great way to get a rush. Just make sure to give it a good run when you jump, and if you at all don't want to do it, THEN DON'T!!, your life is more valuable than some stupid dare 😤, be a rebel, do what no one expects you to do, don't ever take a dare, and you'll live till you're 130 😆

So this is a nice location staff are friendly... why the 2 star you say?... well we got here at 12:45pm on Long weekend Monday. It was not busy yet we got our drinks after 40 mins, our food order was taken 30 min after that, the waitress came and apologizes to us and says that they would discount our meals ... when our meals came out some were cold and the Manager came out and was not friendly at all ... we were a group of 11 adults n 2 kids... if your establishment is not capable of hosting a big group say so we would have gone elsewhere... nothing the waitress tell us.. while placing an order after an hour wait that she can only place 6 orders at a time or the kitchen would get overloaded 🤔 This was just a last quick meal in the area after an amazing weekend not meant to be a 3hr stop at a restaurant... when I told the manager that it had been over 2 and a half hours at the restaurant and she says that we should take our time and enjoy... 😒

My cousin....Manager spoke to me when I went to the washroom saying sorry... we never have large groups... only 6 to 8 ppl max. We tried to accommodate you guys and were clearly stretched If you had reserved beforehand, then we could plan ahead, but it's too much for walk-in. Then I overheard her tell the whole team. New rules guys...going forward we won't accept large groups of over 6 ppl

A great place to visit. One can watch boats pass through the historic Trent Severn Waterway's lock 34 which is active. The viewing platform offers great view, depicting the operations of lock system and water channel. Plenty of parking spaces available at designated parking locations.
