Old school style small town Chinese restaurant were you order off a menu . Went Friday night during the dinner rush. Place seemed busier than it actually was because out of 12 tables in the front half of the restaurant 4 of them were full of dirty dishes and would remain that way during the course of our meal. We were seated pretty quickly and given menus to amuse ourselves with as the two waitresses working ignored us because of the restaurants thriving takeout business. I must have watched 10 takeout orders come out of the back in the time it took for them to take our order. It took almost another 15 mins to bring us our drinks because again customers who took the time to drive to your restaurant park and come in and sit down to eat were not as important as the customer who called in for take out. Our food finally came well 3 out of 4 meals apparently and order of chicken wings is more difficult to make then a combination meal and took an additional 15 mins to finally hit the table with nothing more than a oops sorry it took so long? Could it be that the missing order of wings had actually flown past our table in one of the many takeout orders. The only reason I didn't have a melt down and play the ignorant customer was we were out with family and they the place. On the plus side the other people in our party were happy with their food and you are almost guaranteed to be taking home leftovers however I hated place as far as a sit down and eat goes perhaps the takeout experience may be better. Suddenly I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI walked to the restaurant to place my order. I looked at the menu posted and check the prices on the 'right side' under each offering. Based on that I placed my order and left. Came back in 30 min and my order was ready. But this is where things got a somewhat underhanded.
He said cash? I said no debt and he turned away to get the machine. When he handed me the machine, he had already hit OK for the amount so I was not able to see it. ???? As I put in my pin, I asked him what the total was and he gave me an amount a full $10 MORE than I'd expected. By this time the transaction had gone thru. Then he showed me the menu and in small text it says above the pricing I looked at.. 10% discount for cash. The higher pricing was off to the right side in black text.
Frankly speaking, I should have stopped with I couldn't see the price and clarified the amount BEFORE I continued with the transaction. Thats on me. However, in this communicty I would not expect this type of underhanded and totally misleading practice. I guess things are changing.
Please BEWARE of this underhanded practice. The food was good, not wonderful. And for $64 we could have gone to a patio and had a meal and a beverage both served.
I will not go back. But my lesson learned is NEVER to process a transaction, without checking the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCorners are being cut and I worry about the freshness, especially with everything happening behind closed doors. Eg: chicken balls and breaded shrimp (with lemon ie 1 wedge) were mostly bread with only a tiny piece of dry sketchy meat on the inside- the shrimp were especially unappetizing. Their beef szechuan is a mound of green peppers and onions with relatively little beef, I had to pick through the peppers to find the beef- although it was tasty. Don't expect any vegetables in your noodle dishes unless you are ordering the "vegetable" option instead of a meat, and if you're a vegetarian go somewhere else. I think everything was quickly microwaved before they passed it through the window. It seems like it should be very cheap, but it would actually be cheaper and healthier to eat at just about any other...
