The family and I spent all day at this beach. There are washrooms at this location and a taco food truck during the time we were there. Across the street were condos and houses so not a lot of other things around. Parking is paid.
What we liked was that the beach was very close by to the parking with a little green space. We saw lots of people set up blankets on the beach or grass. We found a nice spot under a tree and were able to get shade for a bit before the sun moved onto us. We did bring an umbrella so that was good.
The beach was clean and the water was warmish and very shallow for quite a ways. Out of our time here, the kids spent the most time in the water and even tried to build some sand castles. There is also a beach rental where you can rent paddleboards and paddle boats.
The only issue I had was the washrooms were disgusting; doesn't look like it gets cleaned very often and there was no place to change like on...
Read moreKid- and family-friendly beach that tends to be a bit less busy than Boyce-Gyro up the street with fewer of the people there to show off their beach-bods (so good or not depending on why you go to the beach). The sand is a bit of a narrower strip than Boyce-Gyro, but the drop-off in the water is about the same so you can go a fair way out by walking. A few more rocks in the sand here, though, but just a surprise here and there compared to almost completely nothing on the bottom of Boyce-Gyro but sand. Good rentals for pedal boats in good shape at decent cost. Also a ramp for wheelchair access, and apparently you can get a rental wheelchair to gain access for free (I read this in the city website, but I don't have direct experience: check the city of Kelowna's website under parks and beaches for details.). There is also a little bit of playground equipment here for kids probably in the 4-9...
Read moreOur family-favourite beach! We love this beach, there is a nice playground, a really cool old tree that is right at the waters edge and all the kids love, grass to sit on, covered tables, close restrooms. Everything a family with young kids needs. The sunset from this location is unreal and it is a very short walk to get to the Manteo/ ElDorado docks. We love to walk along the docks and people watch along the way:)
Sometimes the weeds can be a little bit gross, I've heard they are trying to fix that for this summer. The sidewalk by the street connects all the way to the next beach over, Gyro beach. This is a fun little walk if you want to explore the nearby beaches.
Parking is sparse in the lot but there is some parking across the road and between the two options you can usually you can find a spot. Grocery stores and restaurants not too far...
