Over the weekend we enjoyed an incredible stay as our family got together from all across the Okanagan. Right from the beginning the Manteo staff were very accommodating and understanding of how we wanted the weekend to go and to make it special for our grandmother. We booked three very nice suites and a few other rooms to accommodate our whole family. Almost all of our rooms were lakefront which was beautiful and enjoyable. As a special request we wanted our grandmother to have a special room.. And the Manteo staff put her in a corner lakeview suite and it was amazing.
We celebrated with family and took in the many amenities of the nearby boardwalk on the lake, the games room and the pool. Being from Kelowna we know the Manteo is in an excellent location with many other amenities within walking distance or a short drive.
Instead of going out for dinner, we are presented with the option of having the entire dinner catered with only some cooking to do in our suites. We decided on this option and it was absolutely perfect. This made it easy to coordinate the all the families and kids together for a great evening and dinner. We had a wide selection of salads, potatoes, bread, and steak. The dinner was excellent and the flavors were very good.
I have to point out that Chantelle handled most of the booking and coordinating for our family and she was absolutely amazing to deal with. There were some additional personal touches such as personal messages cards in the room and suites and a fruit tray for a grandmother that was a special touch from her and the staff of the Manteo resort.
Our grandmother was continuously overwhelmed with love and that’s all we could’ve asked for over the weekend. Our family and the Manteo Resort made it extra special for her and her time at the resort while staying with her family. Thank you...
Read moreOur recent stay at Manteo Resort in Kelowna left much to be desired, and we feel compelled to strongly discourage others from making the same mistake. Having previously enjoyed a stay here in 2016, our return this time was nothing short of disheartening.
The decline in quality was unmistakable from the outset. The lack of cleanliness was evident in the stained and unsightly carpets both in the hallway and within our room. Yet, that wasn't the extent of our ordeal. The disruptive noise emitted by the AC unit, akin to a semi-truck running idle all night, rendered our sleep nearly impossible. Our attempts to address the issue were met with a callous solution: a $125 upgrade fee on top of the already substantial $434.84 for one night.
Further amplifying our disappointment was the unjustified $30 nightly resort fee plus tax. Basic essentials such as shower gel and slippers were glaringly absent. Our plea for shower gel was met with an absurd offer of shampoo and conditioner. In an era as advanced as 2023, it's bewildering that a resort commanding such fees could overlook these fundamental amenities. A nod towards eco-friendliness could easily be achieved through the adoption of modern dispensers, as many contemporary hotels have done.
This dismal experience cast a profound shadow on the onset of our road trip. Manteo Resort's regrettable deterioration, coupled with their unhelpful responses and disregard for essential guest needs, compels us to wholeheartedly dissuade others from considering this establishment. We sincerely hope for a swift and substantial improvement that aligns with the standards they once upheld and the expectations of their valued patrons.
Follow up note in December 2023- Despite the response posted by the hotel management, she never...
Read moreFor the most part, I really like the Manteo Resort Waterfront Hotel. I would probably come back with the family and stay for a vacation, maybe rent a boat or walk down to the nearby beach. This trip was for a work function, so it was less relaxing. The good parts are that the location and views are gorgeous, being that it is located on the Okanagan. The meeting facilities are also quite nice, with doors opening on to the patio overlooking the water. The staff were all very friendly, including the restaurant, Smack Dab, where they have many delicious dishes. my server took good care of me and came back to check on me after my food came out and again shortly after. The one thing in general that I didn’t like about the resort was that after 11:00pm there is nothing to do. The restaurant closed up and there is only the one. There is another hotel down the boardwalk, but they also closed early. So if you want to do something after 11:00 pm, you will have to leave the property. They also do not have a spa, which I thought was strange considering that they do have a large clubhouse with an indoor pool and fitness area etc. there is a lot of space that they could use for this, a massage is just one of the services I like when I travel. They also are missing a shop for sundries and convenience items. Why not have a spot where you could sell these miscellaneous items as well if not for much of a profit, maybe just for the happiness of those who stay. There could even be an offsale so that when everything shuts down so early, a person could buy a beer. Overall this is a great place to stay, friendly staff and...
