We had a trip to Kelowna for a long weekend, and we visited various places. I gave them all 5 stars except for this hotel. The best aspects of the hotel were its cleanliness and tranquility, along with their efficient messaging system. Also There was a nice young man in the parking lot who was helping people with whatever they asked for; he was the best in this hotel. He accompanied us to show the way to the Manteo entrance and front desk. He was very polite, very nice, and friendly he was smiling nicely. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name." To avoid a lengthy explanation, I'll provide a list of our concerns:
1- We selected a room for three people and booked it online, but during checkout, our card was charged more than expected. We asked staff and he didn’t know what happened, he refunded a part of that. 2- The room reservation form did not specify if it had a lake view, and it turned out it didn't. 3- Upon arrival, there was confusion about the check-in location. No one informed us that we should go to Manteo for check-in. We stopped at the main entrance, and although the kitchen and dining room staff saw us, no one offered assistance until another guest informed us. 4- The pillows were very very uncomfortable, the sheets felt like plastic, and we got hot and sweaty. The duvet was too small (Twin size)for the double-sized bed. 5- The beds were also double-sized, making it difficult for two adult people to sleep comfortably.we couldn’t sleep during 2 nights 6- The provided refillable water bottle was too small for three people, forcing us to refill it four times in a row. Eventually, we had to buy water. 7- There was no menu or schedule times in the room, leaving us clueless about food and services. 8- When we tried to have breakfast, the staff informed us that tables were reserved and couldn't accommodate us, even though we were hotel guests. They advised us to eat quickly within 30 minutes. To make matters worse, they gave us only two menus when there were three of us (my son is 14). After waiting for 10 minutes without anyone taking our order, we decided to leave the hotel dining room and found another restaurant in the city. We chose not to dine at the hotel again, neither for lunch nor dinner. It was frustrating to see many empty tables outside, but they didn't allow guests to have breakfast lakeside.
9- The staff, while polite, lacked friendliness. Their demeanor resembled that of bank employees. They need training in hospitality and guest relations to make the hotel more inviting and helpful, they need to travel to other countries to see other hotels and their services. 10- The room lacked a kettle and tea bags, and there was no café in the hotel. As I have allergies to coffee, we had to visit Tim Hortons to refill our flask with boiling water and buy tea and cookies at Save On Foods." Perhaps the dining room staff could have assisted us, but we didn't ask them because none of them were friendly.
11- They advertised kayaking as an activity, but when we went to the boat house, the staff informed us that kayaking service was no longer available. 12- We inquired with the hotel about electric vehicle (EV) car charging facilities, and they confirmed they had them. However, we discovered that the charging stations only worked for Tesla models, which was disappointing for our non-Tesla EV. This is not a problem for us but I want to say they aren’t professional. 13 - people book this hotel because it’s lake side but in reality they don’t receive lakeside services. It’s like you booked a hotel in middle of city. 14- The room was intended for four guests, but there were only two of everything, despite us being three occupants - two adults and a 14-year-old. For instance, there were only...
Read moreTheir lack of any attention to detail is beyond appalling from renting so some one who is ineligible to rent from their own rules to failing to locate damage on a jetski before clearing it to go out absurd. If you are planning to rent a jetski please to god don’t do it here, they have turned what was supposed to be a fun night into a bureaucratic and financial nightmare. Me and my friend decided to rent 2 jetskis from the marina. When I left the marina I noticed the right side of the bumper was detached and flapping around but thought this was a feature (perhaps for aerodynamics to keep the nose from lifting up). On our way back a boat passed in front of me and I hit a normal sized wave and the bumper shifted positions to above the hull only on the right side. The assistant manager James took a look and said this is because of a chip in the fiberglass where the screw to hold the bumper is supposed to sit and quickly rushed back to a dinner he was attending. The damage deposits were put on 2 separate cards. They only returned 1 deposit, each deposit was $1500. The pictures that their crew took prior to us even getting on the jet skis show this chip missing and the bumper being not attached. When I tried to explain this to Bruno (the manager) he completely disregarded the damage seen in the pictures and insisted it was my doing. I kindly told him that because this was not my doing, if the damage deposit doesn’t get returned to me I will be disputing the charge and going to the BBB. Deposit was magically returned on July 29, 2025, to my understanding this confirmed that they understood that I had not caused the damage. Yesterday morning I received and email along with an invoice for $1,141.28 and that amount was charged to the other card I provided, for damage which was already there.Me and my friend were 2 young girls and it makes me extremely uncomfortable that this business would try to take advantage of me and charge me quite an expensive bill for something I did not do, not to mention renting out a jetski to someone who is under the age of 19 which goes against their own rules listed on their website. A detached bumper is an extreme safety concern because if it had come off while I was on the water it would have definitely done bodily harm at speeds of up to 40mph. Their lack of any attention to detail is beyond appalling from renting so some one who is ineligible to rent from their own rules to failing to locate damage on a jetski before clearing it to go out absurd. If you are planning to rent a jetski please to god don’t do it here, they have turned what was supposed to be a fun night into a bureaucratic and financial nightmare. We were the last rental of the day and I’m sure that they had seen the damage and purposely let it go out thinking that they could trick some young girls into paying for their hunger for money. Just another resort who don’t care about their customers safety and comfort and simply chasing profits. Attached pictures of the damage, properly fitted bumper for comparison and an email from a jetski repair specialist confirming the damage on it prior to me...

I never leave reviews but I have to say something! (Our room number was #225) my mom and I both live in Kelowna, and she decided to treat me to a night at the Elderado with her. We both don't have bathtubs atm and were really looking forward to our room which included one, we even brought bath bombs and such to enjoy... After enjoying the pool during the day (we ended up not needing our card for the pool room since the gate was left open) we went back to our room, rented a movie and by 9pm my mom went to take her bath... she then discovered our tub to be broken ( the drain was loose and water would not stay in the tub ) we tried to make the most of it and used a cloth to cover the drain (which hardly worked) i suggested we tell the staff but my mom informed me it was too late since it was 9ish. The next morning, as we are getting ready to go out and have breakfast our power went out while i was blow drying my hair. we called and someone came in to fix it while we were wasting our time before checkout waiting to be able to finish getting ready. When we got to breakfast we waited to be seated, our server told us she would be right with us, then seemingly forgot about us until another lady sat us 5+ mins later (honestly no big deal but when everything adds together its too much) then we ordered two ceasers, we got our food and midway through eating our server comes back to check on us and my mom let her know she forgot to put in our ceasers (my mom was nice about it ok we aren't karens i swear) the server didn't even stop walking and just replied "yep i think i did!"... couple minutes later she brought them to us and just put them down and said "there you go". it would have been nice to hear a simple apology... Last but not least we wanted to use the pool before check out. come to find out the gate was locked this time and our cards were not working to let us in... we didn't have much time left but we walked around trying to find staff and when we did he checked and confirmed there was an error with our cards. The only good experience we had was our facials and practitioners were incredible! When the check-out receptionist asked how our stay was my mom said it was nice but brought up a couple of our issues, the staff just said " im sorry about that, thank you for staying , have a good day. " so we said thank you and left. But now sitting on it, it doesn't feel right to me that my mom spent money on trying to have a nice night with me and everything went south, there was not much luxurious about our stay here. If my mom doesn't want to complain i will do it for her because I hate to see...
